How many times do boxers win a fight because of their jab? Pep describing the way he plays as "take the ball, pass the ball"? The All Blacks being Rugby's dominant force because of their ability to all handle the ball? New business for sales people is at a premium right now, whether in SaaS or recruitment. We can often get distracted by the amount of techniques available these days (personal brand, technology, video etc). But fundamentally, it'll boil down to the number of quality conversations you're having daily. It's nine months now since I joined the team at Udder lead by Alan Walker and Jeremy Russon. I think I was employee number 16 when I joined at the end of January and now we're up to 27 as the team goes from strength to strength. I can honestly say I have never enjoyed a job as much as I am enjoying this one. I am loving every minute of it. I have learnt so much this year doing a job that is very different to my previous 28 years' working and my only regret is I wish I had made the move sooner. Working with such an amazing group of colleagues, partners and customers where you feel so valued and truly part of the team can't be under estimated. We all contribute to that culture by being kind, supportive, curious and straightforward in how we work together. Culture is not about the values listed on the website or stuck up on the walls, it's about how we really work together everyday. Sadly, it's the pockets of underlying negativity or toxicity that are tolerated in some companies that really define their culture. But this post isn't about negatives, it's about me having a ball in doing what I am doing today and loving the place where I work with a new found enjoyment of working. I haven't touched on what an epic, creative and awesome buch of tech savvy people we are at Udder. But we are. And we know a thing or two about working in the industry too, with most of us coming from in-house HR and TA backgrounds, so we have walked in the shoes of our customers with the added ability to add a big old dash of functional expertise and technological know-how on top. #UdderRocks
