There are three attributes to any act or product: quantity, specification, and quality. Quantity involves simply counting the act. Specification refers to how the act is performed or the features of the product. Quality is the most important aspect, focusing on the purity of intention or the intrinsic goodness of the act. This framework can also be applied to religion. For example, in Islam, there are five mandatory prayers each day (quantity). How these prayers are performed, such as the number of rakats and recitations, represents specification. However, the quality of the prayers is determined by the purity of intention (IKHLAS). In Islam, the quality of actions is improved through #TASAWWUF, TAZKIYA, or TAREEQAT, different terms for the same domain often referred to as spirituality. Contrary to popular belief, focusing on this aspect is mandatory. To delve deeper into this topic, consider watching the following lecture series by Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani sb. P.S. Neglecting TASAWWUF i.e., ensuring the purity of our intentions, is the reason why we may not see the practical impact of our actions. Have a thoughtful #Ramadan!

Ramadan. A time not just for fasting, but for deep reflection. It's a blessed time when we turn inward, seeking self-awareness in the silence between our daily routines. In these moments of quiet, allowing us to breathe, to understand and to truly listen. This is where we discover a deeper connection - not just with ourselves but also with those around us. This sacred month reminds us of the importance of connectedness. Through acts of kindness, empathy and generosity, we build a stronger community and sense of belonging. We learn that our actions, no matter how small - impact the lives of others. And in this journey of self-awareness and connection, we find peace. Peace within ourselves as we reconcile with our flaws and strengths. Peace with others as we recognize our shared humanity. Ramadan teaches us that peace isn't the absence of conflict - it's the presence of understanding, acceptance and compassion. As we reflect on this holy month, let us apply these lessons into every aspect of our lives. Cultivating peace in every way. What was your biggest reflection of Ramadan this year?
