There are three attributes to any act or product: quantity, specification, and quality. Quantity involves simply counting the act. Specification refers to how the act is performed or the features of the product. Quality is the most important aspect, focusing on the purity of intention or the intrinsic goodness of the act. This framework can also be applied to religion. For example, in Islam, there are five mandatory prayers each day (quantity). How these prayers are performed, such as the number of rakats and recitations, represents specification. However, the quality of the prayers is determined by the purity of intention (IKHLAS). In Islam, the quality of actions is improved through #TASAWWUF, TAZKIYA, or TAREEQAT, different terms for the same domain often referred to as spirituality.
