This isn't how I planned it. I came off a major high seeing dear business colleagues, new connections, and members who are now family in my mastermind at a live event in Austin last week. It was an exceptional time of reconnection, growth and development. I traveled home full of encouragement, riding the high of excitement and looked forward to diving in to plan out my 2025 and adjust Q4 execution. This #FreedomFriday post isn't what I planned on. I came home to mad chaos preparing for Hurricane Milton to come directly our way. In the aftermath of Milton, millions are without power (or at least were), so many have lost their homes, roads to their homes are no longer there(see the pic below), and lives have been lost. Why such a morbid post, you ask? Because in light of everything that has just happened, there is still much to be thankful for. I still get to choose how I approach the rebuilding of our community. With positivity or with a defeated outlook. I get to decide where I place my joy - in my family and friends who are still with me or in sorrow for things lost that can be replaced. I still get to find people every single day to help. I still get go breathe in the air, wake up each day, and decide how I'm going to show up in the world. Don't let moments like this make you go right back to normal. Do a pulse check and see what adjustments need to be made. #Freedomfriday for me - today - is about choosing to focus on the proper outlook to be sure that my future is still bright. How about you?
I am so happy to hear that you and your family are safe, Darla. I love the message in this post. You know I am a mindset guy and mindset makes the difference, especially when facing situations like the one all of you in the Southeast have been handed. Using "I get to..." is a powerful mindset tool. Looking forward to seeing what you do next!
My prayers have been with you all week. Grateful you are safe. The rest is just stuff.
yes it's great to choose and to thrive. We live in BC Canada and our communities are always fighting fires and being evacuated and often without power for extended periods. Leaders like yourself will rise up in your community. My heart goes out to all of you.
Thoughts with you and your community during this time. Everyone around you is thankful for your outlook and rising in times of need and heartache.
You’ve been in my thoughts and prayers, I’m so happy you’re ok! Sending you much love Darla Bonk . As always I love your perspective - we get to choose to look for the good, the hope and the humanity amidst all the destruction. Thank you for your perspective! ❤️
It was so great to meet you in person. My prayers go out to everyone impacted by Milton and Helene. If I can be of any help, please let me know.
The destruction is horrible to see on TV, and I'm sure it feels so much worse in person. Glad you and yours are safe. Sorry we didn't have a chance to talk more--it was such a packed 2 days, but all so good.
Thank you, Darla Bonk, for the uplifting post during such a challenging time. Your positivity in the face of this disaster is truly inspiring. #PrayersForMiltonSurvivors
So glad to hear you are ok and appreciate your perspective!! Big hugs!!

2moDarla Bonk if you have been on my mind, even more than normal, over this last week. I am so sorry for all of the devastation around you. Thank goodness you and your family are ok. Your post hit me hard and was so powerful. Thank you for being vulnerable, for sharing the sh*tty part of life and empowering all of us to pause ... take that moment to look around and be grateful for what is and allow that flexibility to adjust when needed. We all stumble ... we all fall ... but the strength to rebuild both inside and out ... that's where & when the magic happens. I love you girlfriend. Please reach out if there is anything at all I can help with.
