The best way to understand strengthen client relationships is to understand what they're truly looking for. In order to do this, you should not only be asking questions, but actively listening to what they have to say. By asking questions & actively listening, you'll begin to understand what their true pain points are. From there, provide your solutions to those pain points. The more you deliver, the stronger your relationship will grow.

Dan you are right but Listening and asking questions are important when connecting with a new client, but there's something even more crucial: doing our homework. Before we even reach out, taking the time to research our client, whether it's through their LinkedIn profile or tools like Rocket Reach, can give us invaluable insights. It's not just about knowing facts; it's about understanding them better, which ultimately helps us serve them better.

This works for job seekers too. If you think of every bullet point on the JD as a pain point or aspiration, then you can prepare your answer to their questions and your questions for them accordingly. The reason people hire you is the same reason people buy things... You've clearly shown them that you can make their life easier and better..
