To be an effective outsourced CFO I find you also need to be a CMO, CTO, COO etc.., il explain. I find the 1st outsourced position companies hire is CFO. The owner has had it trying to figure out the finances & knows in their gut if they do this it will pay off big time, both in terms of profit & quality of life. As CFO you go through the company data, from that data you extrapolate different ideas / actions the company could / should take to grow. Who’s going to implement all this insight the CFO has discovered in the data, the regular employees either have their hands full or aren’t capable, the owner is busy selling, has no patience to put detailed plans into action. If the company also had other executive positions filled then the CFO would have whom to pass the data onto, but they don’t. Here’s where I switch hats for a bit & try to work with the company to implement the actionable data iv come up with & help create growth.

When it comes to hiring a fractional or full time CFO there are two things you should expect: 1) Operational Excellence: The 4 components of the finance department (taxes, capital markets, accounting and FO&A) should run smoothly. This entails having the right people, processes and technology to ensure that the finances are properly managed 2) Decision Making Insights; The other crucial component of the CFO is to ensure that the CEO has the right information as it relates to catch, profit margin and year over year revenue growth

In the whole world of Fintech, you specialise in accountingtech? Why? That's very niche? My partner is an ex accountant - management accounts and then practice. I saw first hand how technology could revolutionise his way of working and the impact digital transformation has on accounting functions. Gone are the days of boxes and drawers crammed full ledgers. Farewell to the piles of invoices to be processed by a team. If I can continue to place quality individuals into businesses that can make finance functions run more efficiently that is the feel good factor of my job. I am at the start of the process to find the leader/individual who will create the strategy/manage the team/prospect the client who will eventually impact the end-user. I'm not an accountant but have to spend most of my time with one... Therefore I am happy to understand how I can find the right GTM hires to your business in order to support your customers. #gtm #hiring #accountingtech #cfo Usurpo

But, Himadhar, hiring a CFO for my business is a costly affair said this client before working with us! Most prospects reaching Finattic have little to no understanding on how a CFO can scale operations and revenues swiftly. One of our clients had apprehensions and we offered to work for a couple of months together. Here's what we delivered meanwhile: - Realignment of cash flows - Capitalization on key strengths - Registration for tax exemptions - Profit-first approach in daily operations And the approach resulted in: - Better pace to breakeven - Negligible operational errors - Upto 1.5x profit maximization While our charges are on par with what you pay to individuals, you get more with us at no additional cost. Want to scale your business? Hire a virtual CFO today! DM me to discuss. #accounting #finance #cfo

Many people outside of accounting & finance think a Controller is just a Mini-CFO but that couldn't be further from the truth. The best way I can explain the difference is this... A Controller's primary focus is on the past and the immediate future. They're focused on preparing timely and accurate financials statements for senior leadership to make reliable decisions on. They're preparing these financials according to GAAP (typically) because this will give the most accurate representations of a company's financial health. CFOs primarily focus on the future (1-5 years out). They're taking those financial statements and applying assumptions to project future needs and performance of the business. They work with the CEO/president to take their vision of the business and turn it into a financial picture. They ask questions like... Do we have enough cash to fund operations? Should we make this acquisition? Are we going to hit our growth goals? Will it cost as much as we think it will to hit those growth goals? Can we afford to hire? How should we raise capital? CFOs are living in the future to project any obstacles or opportunities and then make decisions in the present to react accordingly. What are the other differences you might add between a Controller and a CFO? #accountingandfinance #controller #chieffinancialofficer #hiring
