Favorite way to ask prospects what their pain points are without actually asking the question? Ask them what they like about their current/incumbent solution. Then ask again. Then get them to explain further. Magic three words as a seller (in case no one has ever told you) are “tell me more”. *not only are you getting to the root issues, you are simultaneously breaking barriers between prospect & seller and building trust.* EVENTUALLY, and in some cases.. very quickly— your prospect will stop complementing and start complaining about their current solution. Nine times out of ten, they’ll even tell you the REAL reason they took the meeting. Start there!

How to determine if a prospect is worth your time? If the prospect you're talking to is way too much focused on the pricing of your services rather than the actual benefits, then he's probably a bad prospect. So let's say, you reached out to a business owner pitching him your services & the first reply you get from him is "What are your charges?". This shows that the prospect is much more concerned about the pricing of your services rather than the actual benefits & this proves that the prospect is going to be a big red flag as a client.

I challenge you to ask your next three prospects this question! James; "Can I ask one of those difficult questions we spoke about?" Prospect; "Yes, go for it." James; "How're you feeling on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being let me out of this ****ing room, 10 being sign me up right now)?" Prospect; "Versus before I came in today, I'm at a 10." James; "Awesome, is there anything you need before we get you signed up?" Prospect; "No, let's do it!" It's very easy to shy away from asking difficult questions, so why not signpost them so you and your prospect know to expect them... RECOMMENDATION - TRIAL CLOSE WHY - FIND OUT HOW YOUR CLIENT IS FEELING AND HOW CLOSE YOU ARE TO CLOSING THEM HOW - SIGNPOST DIFFICULT QUESTIONS - ASK 1 - 10 Matt Sykes with another key piece of advice.
