𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘚𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘱𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘢 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘵 𝘈𝘪𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘭 𝘪𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦🚀 When I started participating in case competitions 9 months ago, I never imagined this would be the result—National Finalist at Airtel iCreate and even a PPI from Airtel. It’s been an incredible journey, and I just wanted to share a few things that have stuck with me: 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳 Case competitions can be tough. You put in so much effort, only to not make the shortlist. Or getting knocked out in the quiz round itself—it stings. But what these competitions have taught me is to keep going, keep learning, and make the most of every opportunity that comes my way. 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 Content is king, but let’s be honest—an eye-catching presentation makes a difference. When many teams present similar solutions, a beautifully structured and visually appealing deck can set you apart. 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝘁 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 During an MBA, it's easy to get caught up in frameworks. They’re great for structure, but I’ve learned that they shouldn’t dictate your solution. A strong idea stands on its own—frameworks are just there to help present it clearly. A huge thank you to the incredible Airtel team for being such wonderful hosts. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow through this experience. Presenting our solution to a panel of distinguished judges was a standout moment, offering lessons far beyond what I had learned before. Tata’s Struggle in the Telecom Industry Tata’s foray into the telecom industry, with Tata Teleservices, did not go as planned. The group struggled to compete with other telecom giants in India, such as Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications. Tata Teleservices was unable to capture a significant market share, and the company faced numerous operational and financial challenges. In 2017, Tata Teleservices had to wind down its consumer mobile services, and the assets were sold to Bharti Airtel. The failure to establish a dominant position in the telecom sector was a rare but notable misstep in Ratan Tata’s otherwise stellar leadership career.
