We advocate and act to protect our precious planet and its people. We work for environmental conservation, wildlife preservation, social justice, and equality for all beings, everywhere. To kick off our new partnership with CleanHub, and in honour of Earth Day, Liforme recently funded the collection of 10,000 kg of plastic. How We Saved 31,475 GOOD GOOD Jars worth of Carbon Emissions in April. 👇 Spoiler alert, it's thanks to YOU! Double Donation Drive in April:  - Throughout April, we doubled our donations! For every Bundle Builder purchased, we donate $1 through our partnership with the Dollar Donation Club. But in April, we doubled that to $2 per Bundle Builder.  - Typically, this $1 donation plants 2.7 trees, but in April, it meant 5 trees planted per Bundle Builder!   New Website Feature: Donation Matching  - We're thrilled to announce that we launched a new feature on our website that allows you to make direct donations of any amount. And guess what? For over 5 years now, it’s been my dream to one day see BlackFin Coffee in the Seattle Aquarium Cafe … Why? Oh man… the overlap is massive! We built this brand to raise awareness for the southern resident killer whales (SRKW) because we love them! But loving them also means caring about all the other factors that impact their health as a species of killer whales, and there’s some problems… lots of problems. The whales first off just don’t have enough food! Their primary food source, Chinook Salmon, have been declining for decades mainly because of these dams in the Snake River that prevent them from migrating back upstream to reproduce. But that’s not the only problem… There’s so many problems, I tried to talk on them in my podcast in 2021… but I digress. In those years, we were proud to be a part of a collective voice that spoke up to our legislators to fix it! And it had some impact. But, that’s just the thing - It was the collective of voices. These voices that combined to create a “Hope Spot” here in the Salish Sea, made it even more of an optimism for us all. One of the members who helped make that Hope Spot designation into a reality was the Seattle Aquarium. At the time, we were partnered with another non-profit, doing work with PNW Protectors, who was another organization helping to make this Hope Spot become a reality. Here’s the facts - We all want to save our beloved SRKW from extinction, and it takes all of us together to make that happen. With that said, can you start to see this match made in heaven? 🌍 From Waste to Worth: Our Donation to Dogs 4 Rescue In every business, some stock inevitably gets damaged or can’t be sold. At Fibo, we are committed to sustainability and believe that there’s always a way to repurpose our products. That’s why we’ve donated our unsellable wall panels to Dogs 4 Rescue, a remarkable organisation that has rehomed over 1,600 dogs in the Greater Manchester area over the past nine years. Our panels are being used throughout their rescue centre, transforming spaces like groom rooms, catchment areas, and walkways. The impact? Here’s what they had to say: “We’ve used the boards throughout our rescue to create hygienic, easy-to-clean, and now very glamorous spaces. It has saved us a small fortune as we can build barriers and zone different areas using these strong panels. The time saved on cleaning and the reduction in repairs for chewed barriers are huge bonuses. We're celebrating 10 years since the launch of our recycling programs in ANZ. That's 10 years of doing things differently. Ten years of creating value, where others see only waste. Our CEO Tom Szaky talks about operating in an industry which occupies a supply and demand quadrant that doesn't appear in any economics text book. A quadrant in which supply in infinite and demand is infinitely small. That's waste... everyone makes it... no one wants it... Now compare that with recycling... I could throw dozens of recent research reports at you, but the numbers all tell the same story. Just about everyone WANTS to recycle... Given an affordable, accessible option just about everyone will recycle. On the flip side given the opportunity to offer a reliable, accountable and audited recycling process, brands will invest to offer their customers that service. So here's a huge 10 year shout out and thank you to all our wonderful, loyal, passionate collector community and to all the brands that understand why recycling is so important. A huge thank you also to our talented team who know how to leverage recycling programs to create value for employees, customers and partners. On Friday, Carnegie's TeamCare Sustainability and Philanthropy committees teamed up to host our 4th annual Green Holiday Master Class! Each year, the week before Thanksgiving, we present tips for heading into the holiday season with an eco-consciousness, creating awareness for how to make Earth-friendly choices during a time of year that can be filled with overconsumption. I thought I'd share some of what we talked about: 🛍️ Shopping: Consider eco-friendly gift options such as food, homemade items, secondhand selections, experiences, reusable products, and donations. And of course, support local businesses! 🎁 Gift wrapping: Reuse and recycle wrapping paper and bags and practice the Japanese wrapping method furoshiki. 🥧 Holiday Meals: Purchase food from a local farm, use more veggies and less meat, don't buy more than you need, and enjoy leftovers. 🫶 Give back: Donate items, volunteer, and participate in local fundraisers and charity events.
