Scientists need a fast and accurate way to identify different species, which traditionally involves slow and complex DNA sequencing. Inventors at University of Central Florida developed new method uses a special tube (cylindrical nanopore) to slide DNA through, measuring the speed of its parts to identify specific markers (protein tags). Like scanning a barcode, this technique quickly and precisely identifies species without reading long DNA sequences. It's faster, cheaper, and avoids common errors, making species identification much more efficient.
