Halloween is here, and it's time to talk about something really scary…with a thrill of a horror story. ...the Ghosts of Past Projects. What if we told you that the real ghosts haunting developers today are not from folklore, but rather the remnants of past projects and outdated technologies? Building video into products is hard. It's exciting yet fraught with unseen challenges... and more challenges when building the infrastructure yourself. With modern Video APIs, devs can exorcise outdated practices and breathe new life into their projects. The key lies in willingness to adapt— and bringing the vision to reality, much faster! Transforming what once haunted you into a powerful ally. Wishing everyone a spooktacular Halloween filled with creativity and innovation! 🎉👻 #FastPix #VideoAPI #HalloweenStories

Best practices? Nonsense. 🤣 I keep seeing posts advocating against following best practices. This is annoying, because these posts destroy what took our industry years to achieve, only to gain some likes. 👎 What most of the posters have in common seems to be that they don't understand the rationale behind these practices. DRY? You want me to abstract everything! Limit the number of arguments in a function? You can't tell me what to do! Law of Demeter? Is that the one about counting dots? I hate counting dots! SOLID? What even IS that? 🤷♂️ Before you mock best practices, have some humility. Study them in depth, make sure you understand why they became best practices. It's unlikely that the entire industry is stupid. Once you understand a principle, I mean REALLY understand it, then by all means, criticise away. Maybe you have a genuine insight. Until then, please, stop ruining the industry for attention. #androiddev #developerlife #bestpractices #softwareengineering #softwaredevelopment

How do you use the diff view more efficiently on Happo? 👇 with Henric Trotzig, co-founder at Happo. (Btw, for tech nerds, this component is using a canvas and a web worker to analyze the diff on-demand).

Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right – B, A, B, A, start. For anyone who grew up with video games, that combination brings back memories of unlocking more lives, shortcuts and leveling up your game (and your chances to win). Kids (ok, and sometimes grown men) used this code to gain an advantage – not to skip the challenge, but to find a better way through it. The same principle applies at work. It’s not about cutting corners but about using the tools, processes, and strategies available to maximize your impact and minimize wasted effort. Finding that "cheat code" isn’t about avoiding the hard work but about handling the challenges smarter. Whether it’s automating tasks, improving communication flow, or simply learning from past experiences, the goal is to focus our energy where it matters most. So, what's your professional "cheat code"? How are you leveling up? #contra #Konami #cheatcode #levelup #worksmarternotharder Inspired by Richard (Rick) Lavigne 😘

🚀 DevJourney Season 3: 8/30 🚀 Today, I took a wild ride into the land of Linked Lists! 🌐💻 Here’s what I learned: 🥳 Key Points: 1️⃣ Types of Linked Lists: Singly Linked List: Imagine a one-way street where each node is waving goodbye as you pass. "See ya at the next node!" 🚦 Doubly Linked List: The two-way street! Now you can go back and forth like a Netflix binge-watcher skipping intros! 🔄 Circular Linked List: It’s like a never-ending loop of fun—once you enter, there’s no getting off until you decide! 🎢 2️⃣ Creating a Node: It's like introducing a new friend to the party! "Hey there, I’m a node! Let’s link up!" 🤝 3️⃣ Insertion: At Head: Just like the best seats at a concert—everyone wants to be up front! 🎤👯 At Tail: This is like the back row—easy to get to but not where all the action is! 🎟️ At Desired Position: Think of it as finding that perfect spot at a crowded party. “Excuse me, can I just squeeze in right here?” 🥳 4️⃣ Deletion: Time to say goodbye to a node! “It’s not you, it’s me!” Just a little pointer adjustment, and poof, they’re gone! ✌️ If it’s the last node, it’s like saying goodbye to the last slice of pizza—always a tough moment! 🍕🥲 💡 Code Highlights: I created a Node class to represent each node in the list. Every node can store its own data and point to the next node! I mastered the art of inserting nodes at various positions—head, tail, or any desired position! I also learned to gracefully delete nodes without leaving a trace (just a little pointer magic). On to Day 9! Let’s keep those nodes connected and the party going! 🧩✨ #Day8 #DevJourney #30DayChallenge #LinkedLists #DataStructures #NodeCreation #Insertion #Deletion #KeepCoding #NodeParty #LearningIsFun

I betrayed the dark mode community and changed hearitfresh default theme to light mode, it just looks better, I'm sorry. Since I changed it to Next.js, things run more smoothly and I can add more useful features. Maybe relaunch on product hunt What feature would you want it to have?
