Clavister, a leader in European cybersecurity for mission-critical applications, has received an order for software licenses of Clavister CyberArmour worth ca 5 MSEK from a European defence contractor. Clavister CyberArmour is Clavister’s family of AI-powered firewall products tailored for the defence industry. The products are used, for instance, as integrated security components in BAE Systems Hägglunds AB’ CV90 family of IFV:s (Infantry Fighting Vehicles). Clavister CyberArmour can be provided either as turn-key products or as pure software for cases where the customer has explicit requirements on hardware platforms. The new order concerns software licenses of Clavister CyberArmour, where the customer will integrate Clavister’s software into one of the defence systems being produced in Southern Europe. “We are proud to see more defence systems benefiting of using Clavister CyberArmour,” comments John Vestberg, CEO of Clavister. “We look forward to a fruitful collaboration with the customer, and we envision this to be a long-term partnership where more of the customer’s systems can be equipped with our technology,” concludes John Vestberg. Shift5 and Booz Allen Hamilton today announce their partnership: “Transportation and defense operators are central to maintaining economic stability and defending national security; without their reliable and consistent performance, the global supply chain falters, human safety is at risk, and the nation loses advantage in strategic competition. Given the current state of geopolitics and evolution in the threat landscape, commercial and military operators must adopt a new definition of complete cybersecurity that includes observability, OT, and AI/ML. Shift5’s work with Booz Allen brings together these core components to give operators a decision advantage,” said Josh Lospinoso, CEO, Shift5. Do they still have Captain’s mast? How about being keel-hauled? This showcases not just wanton dereliction by the individuals involved, but casts questions on training and if these fools knew they were violating all kinds of cyber rules. Increasingly, the DoD is turning their SIGINT and EW capabilities…on themselves, to see if we are radiating signals we shouldn’t be. The Army, for example has their SSW group (Strategic Spectrum Warfare, under PEO IEW&S: https://peoiews.army.mil/) that pays attention to the good guys, too. Military Times: https://lnkd.in/gVBdhKgn

It is about time that the Air Force reversed this very, very bad idea. Pulling Cyber into Intelligence was a power grab that was not thought out, not vetted properly, and was a result of our Comm Community not being able to defend Cyber appropriately as a distinct entity. Finally, common sense has prevailed, and it is being fixed. The 16th AF also needs to split back into two NAFs - Intelligence and Cyber (pulling back out the prior mission set of the 24th AF). As the Chair of the House Cyber Sub Committe stated - it is time to look at Cyber as its own service. As this concept moves forward, it is looking more and more like it will rest with the Army - I personally think it is time to lite a fire under this idea and get it moving faster. And that may be happening in the background, causing this Air Force change. And, it is about time.
Honored to be part of the team making this happen for the Air Force https://lnkd.in/ecus5Wa3
