🚢 A safer future for imports with the Secure Chain 🌏 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, companies importing containers from the Far East and Oceania will be onboarded into the Secure Chain at the Port of Rotterdam! The current process of releasing import containers with vulnerable PIN codes will be replaced by a secure, trusted process. The Secure Chain already covers import containers from Africa, the Middle East, India, Pakistan, Latin America, and North America, with over 630,000 containers processed securely. Thanks to key collaborations between deep-sea carriers and terminals, the Port of Rotterdam now operates with a unified approach for safe, PIN-free container handling, ensuring all major shipping lines are committed to secure operations. 🔹The importance of this transition: This next phase strengthens our logistics chain with transparency and accountability. From ship to port to final destination, only verified, authorized carriers gain access, resulting in reduced risks of fraud and increased efficiency. IT Hardware Import authorizations in the 'restricted' category can now be applied for Import Authorizations valid until December 31, 2024. Existing Import Authorizations issued before September 30, 2024, will remain valid until December 31, 2024. Importers are required to apply for fresh authorizations for the period starting from January 1, 2025, pending the release of detailed guidelines. #DGFT #ITHardware #Restricted #Imports
