This is a really good article by Ad Age's Lindsay Rittenhouse on the plethora of new agencies launching. Mercer Island Group's thoughts on this discussion: - success will be tougher than it looks - the world is not eagerly awaiting new agencies - the new firms will face the same challenge as existing agencies: very, very low unaided awareness in a highly fragmented market with no barrier to entry - to get on the radar of prospects, these new agencies will need to understand the customer journey of agency prospects (most agencies and agency execs don't) - and will then need to make a case why what they offer today (with their new firm) is actually better than what they offered yesterday (with their old firm) We wish them the best.
