Netflix is getting into gaming. And they aren't the only ones... When I logged onto YouTube earlier this week, I saw a new part of the home screen dedicated to in browser games. Think mobile games but without any of the annoying ads (at least if you have YouTube premium) Last week, Blumhouse, the production company behind some of the biggest horror movie hits of the past 5 years, also announced they're going to be taking their expertise into the gaming industry. And I mean it makes sense. At this point the gaming industry is forecasted to close 455 billion in revenue this year. And it's likely to continue growing... It's been a long time since gaming has been a niche industry, and in the future it could grow into an even larger part of all of our lives. But what do you think? Will gaming continue to grow, or is a reset for the industry approaching? If you want to learn more about the future of media, subscribe to my newsletter Liminal Media: https://lnkd.in/gsu3vjxe

There isn't much dialogue on these platforms - just comments, and comments on comments. For under-25 year-olds, real-time conversations are happening in messaging apps, in Discord, and in games." 🎮 Head to https://bit.ly/44kPNUz to rewatch the full panel discussion!

Gaming is becoming a major focus across various industries! 📈 YouTube has joined the growing list of companies embracing gaming, with the rollout of its Playables program on both mobile and desktop platforms. They're in good company, as LinkedIn recently introduced its own game offerings, which have been receiving positive feedback. Other major players like The New York Times, Hearst, and Netflix have also incorporated games into their services. Even Google made a move into gaming back in 2019 with its Google Stadia cloud gaming subscription service. It's exciting to see how gaming is evolving and becoming an integral part of our digital experience. What are your thoughts on this trend? 💭 #Gaming #TechNews #Innovation #DigitalTransformation
