Happy Friday, and to heck with hurricanes! For everyone dealing with this, prayers up for you. All I can tell you is that this is twice in as many months that a hurricane/tropical depression has affected the piedmont of N.C., and that’s not common in my tender 45 years. It’s not all bad news though, from my desk this past week: ·        ILMA time! - Excitedly, my wife and I will be first timers at ILMA, bringing KAJO North America to the event. Very excited to learn, network, and celebrate our great industry. ·        Port Strike – I posted a link with hope last week, but now this seems an inevitability. The economic disruption this causes, from even a single day, is staggering ($5 billion per day, per JP Morgan). ·        Safer USA – violent crime fell 3% from 2022 to 2023. Largest drop in 20 years. Always welcome to read! ·        Navistar no more – rebranding time! On Oct. 1 Navistar will be known as International Motors, Inc. Wise move? Kudos for boldness. ·        Article of note – great piece from Precision Lubrication on accuracy vs. consistency: Particle Counting in Condition Monitoring - Managing Expectations (precisionlubrication.com) ·        One K store closes, another opens – Kmart closed its final store this week. I remember those K-Mart runs as a kid, I salute you 1980’s! Now, another K store has opened, KAJO North America! On our store aisles you’ll find different varieties of bio-lubricants, conventional lubricants, products that your customer needs, and the ability to move fast for you.
