As 2024 winds down, I find myself reflecting on what an incredible and transformative year it’s been. Starting a new job is always a leap of faith—especially when imposter syndrome whispers all the reasons you might not be ready. I’ll admit, I had my moments of doubt about stepping into this new role. But thanks to supportive leadership, amazing coworkers, and an incredible network of professionals cheering me on, I’ve been able to not only rise to the challenge but truly thrive. To all my friends who took the same leap of faith and have talked to me about their own doubts and struggles, just remember you have got this! One of the most rewarding moments this year has been seeing my former customers come back to me, trusting me to help them with their hiring needs. 🎶 The backing track in my mind at the moment is classic early 2000s, Daniel Bedingfield - Gotta Get Thru This... If you know, you know. 😅 Everyone I'm speaking to seems to be counting down the minutes until they log off for the holiday break: "I’ve just got to get through this... Week... 2 weeks... 9 days, 2 hours..." And on the song comes lol.. But the thing is, if you're not happy in your role now it's unlikely that feeling will disappear in January. If nothing changes, nothing changes, and if you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’re getting. Now’s the perfect time to reflect and prepare for next year: 🔹 Employers: Turnover is coming. Are you ready to come back from your break and handle it? 🔹 Employees: Everyone’s keen for a coffee, wine, time out of the office at the moment. It’s the ideal time to reconnect with your network. Gen Z has been labeled ‘Generation Quit’ for the last few years. This is a huge misconception. The reality is, Gen Z cares deeply about self-improvement and their career. It's not their work ethic that's the issue. it's the toxic work cultures. It’s lack of balance. They don’t want to be stuck in an office all day, every day.
