https://lnkd.in/e7Puw9Ud Playing runs perfectly evenly can be quite tricky. This is mostly because of one hand being better developed than the other, plus the fact that our fingers are mirrored. So here are some things you can do to synchronize them well: 1. Play in contrary motionRemove the problem of mirrored hands, by playing the same fingers at the same time. You can do this on any motive, any exercise, any piece and mirror what is happening. 2. Play in parallel motion and upgrade your less-developed hand to the leading positionFor most people, the left hand feels a little bit weaker than the right. Therefore, you can switch the leading position to the left hand and build more confidence and ease. Always listen carefully for evenness! 3. Check your stance!Make sure your fingers move autonomously, especially the pinky and thumb. If you play those fingers solely with your wrist, you will never be able to fully control the color, dynamic and articulation of that note. Hope this was helpful! This is a good one. So many times people rush to just get through things and give less consideration to the quality of what they're doing. "It's good enough" 😑 Then you end up wasting time going back and having to fix it, when you could have just focused a little bit of additional energy to doing the job the right way the first time around. There was an article I read earlier this morning where Adam Grant (Penn professor / psychologist) discussed the value and importance of the intensity of your work, and how it far outweighs the volume. 💪 Do the job with greater intensity and focus and quality, and it might take a little bit longer. But do a poor job, and then you're going to be wasting time and energy later on rework, which could have been dedicated to other activities. I had seen a meme some time ago that summed things up nicely: We offer 3 kinds of services - Good, Cheap, Fast Good & Cheap won't be Fast, Fast & Good won't be Cheap, and Cheap & Fast won't be Good! 😎
