We're here at our Iowa properties for half the week. Instead of wondering what the issue was behind the wall, the wonderful maintenance man and I crawled down below the staircase to really get to the bottom of what the issue was. 🛠️ We found very quickly what needed to be fixed and the room next door too would be fixed then and rented soon. You better believe that this fortified a good bond and trust that we will do whatever it takes to find solutions and to show we care by crawling into a dark basement under the staircase. Every project has its challenges, and this one hit us with a $20K setback when the house settled by six inches, breaking half of it! 😬 We had to engineer a new beam to fix the foundation — a huge expense, but it’s all part of the process. With the project totaling $4M, this problem feels minor in the grand scheme.
