Hiring high performers takes a lot of work. They typically aren’t going to apply to your open position through a job post or website. They’re already working for successful companies and don’t have a reason to look for anything else. That’s where Ground Up Construction Recruiting comes into play. Part of our job is to proactively build relationships with these types of people and find out what they want next in their career. That way when a job does come along that would interest them, the hard work is already done and we're there to make a connection. We're the middleman that saves you time, money and energy. Give me a shout if your construction company needs Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, Estimators, or any other construction professional. We got you! #groundupconstructionrecruiting

How is working at your company different from doing the same job at your competitors? Answer this question to be able to show candidates what makes your company different. For general contractors especially, it's easy for people to view a Superintendent or Project Manager position at one company as the same as another. Your company is different though - show people what sets you apart. #groundupconstructionrecruiting

Construction Superintendents and Project Managers👷♂️Do you feel like your years of experience don’t fit into a 2-3 page resume? I speak with a lot of candidates that share this frustration. Some of the best that I've worked with have average resumes and others with less experience are landing more job opportunities simply due to presentation. The main tips that the team and I provide daily: ➡ Keep it clear and concise: Avoid large blocks of text, focus on easy to read bullet points. ➡ Highlight projects over duties: Briefly outline your role, but emphasize more on projects including the build type, sector, and value - Also sq ft if its a custom home build. ➡ Show your qualifications: Don’t hide degrees or certifications at the bottom - make them visible! The team and I are here to help you with securing the best role possible. It's not all about a quick fee - We will always be happy to help you by reviewing your resume and suggesting changes or improvements, even if we are not the ones to find you the role at that time, so feel free to get in touch. #BuildPartners #TalentMatching

I help construction companies attract and hire high performers. Project managers, superintendents, project engineers, estimators, and other similar types of professionals. Most owners and executives don’t have the time, resources or networks to do this at the level we can at Ground Up Construction Recruiting. For each search, we put dozens of hours into sourcing and screening candidates. We invest in software to help us do our job better and quicker - contact information, job posts, LinkedIn Recruiter, etc. We’ve also been able to build a network of over 15,000 construction professionals that follow us. So if you don’t have the time, resources, or network to hire the right people, you should consider working with us - we have all 3 of those things. #groundupconstructionrecruiting

Is your job title preventing you from attracting the right candidates? A Superintendent may glaze over your "Site Operations Leader" listing because you are not speaking a common language. We are INUNDATED with information 24/7 - people's desire & patience to decode your message is slim to none. Your window to capture attention of any kind is minimal. (so if I have captured yours and you are reading this - thank you 😉) It's okay to put the glass of company Kool-Aid down for a bit and call things what they are. Save the quirky titles for AFTER you get the candidate interested. Pro Tip? Craft your ads and outreach using the most widely accepted words/titles that work for your application. Don't make people guess. Double Pro Tip? Include your scope of work in the title. Not everyone knows what your company does, and sometimes it isn't obvious in the name. What's clearer to you.. + Site Superintendent - Commercial Construction - Site Operations Leader + Electrical Estimator - Industrial Construction - Estimator (Special shout out to my Residential folks. I've never seen "Project Manager" take on so many different meanings 😅) Give it a shot! . . . #hiring #recruiting #construction #jobads

I save an average contractor a MINIMUM of 14 hours in hiring a single Project Manager or Estimator. Let me break that down for ya. 5 hours of sourcing (finding people) 4 hours of screening people who are interested 1 hour of interview scheduling/ confirming/ sending calendar invites/ confirmations 2 hours of preps/ debriefs with candidates 1 hour of total feedback calls with the client 1 hour of offer negotiation/ discussion Note, these are all MINIMUMS it takes to accomplish these tasks. These 6 key parts of the hiring process each take time to learn and master, especially with a market that has as many options as construction So, it’s not just what could you do with 14 extra hours- It’s what do you lose with those 14+ hours if someone doesn’t work out?
