More than 40% of U.S. banks still rely on core systems built nearly four decades ago. These aging technologies aren't just costly—consuming around 80% of IT budgets—but they also limit agility, making it harder for banks to innovate and adapt to evolving market demands. Middleware presents a powerful solution, seamlessly connecting outdated core systems with modern applications to enhance operations, strengthen risk management, and drive growth. Explore how Core10's Mesh can bridge the gap, empowering banks to meet the demands of today's market with ease.https://bit.ly/4hlRPKt (Source: ABA)

My colleagues and I had the privilege of conducting a webinar for Regional banks in the U.S. on the topic of Legacy Modernization. Whether a bank wants to re-write or replace its legacy applications, the biggest hurdle is to uncover what lies underneath layers of legacy code. During the webinar, we discussed Deloitte’s proprietary method and platform (innoWake) to address this issue. Our approach uses GenAI to create velocity in documenting, decomposing, or transforming your legacy applications, and can produce tangible outcomes in as low as 30 days. Our unique approach combines a “top down” prioritization of your business drivers and intended outcomes, with a technical deep-dive “bottom-up” analysis of your legacy systems and their complexities. We overlay our experience and understanding of legacy environment modernization to help you craft a journey tailored to your priorities with a realistic view of technical feasibility. We thank the attendees for their participation and thought-provoking questions. For those keen to get a deeper understanding of our solution to this complex problem, we would be happy to schedule discussions with you. This is music to my ears as a consumer of banking services but in my many engagements across banking companies this mandate from the FED would be a very tall order! “Ensuring that critical operations and banking services can withstand or recover from disruptive events requires good planning, prudent investment, well-designed systems and regular testing.” The answer to this simply has to be modernisation of legacy systems with the right architecture to provide security and flexibility at the same time! Rigid systems which are not built with later lifecycle in mind are a huge burden 6+ years after they are installed. Network architects need to start thinking more "Cradle to Cradle" than "Cradle to Grave" when they're building the next gen infrastructure. https://lnkd.in/evUsUPfn

In the past, banks have adopted the big bang migration approach, but it comes with significant risks. Migrating large volumes of data in one go without a transition period between old and new systems is risky. However, there's a better way! Learn how banks can pursue an initial co-existence migration strategy. If you want access to the full report, please message me. #migrationstrategy #bankingtechnology #riskmanagement
