To drive organizational success, focus on people-oriented experience! Had a great time yesterday at O.C. Tanner and People Matters Global’s talk on “Making the Shift to a People-Centric Experience”. We dived into pressing issues in the HR and talent space, examining why in today’s global workforce, a large majority of workers feel overlooked and underappreciated, despite being vital to their organization’s success. This phenomenon, known as “the 80% experience”, can drive promising team members to burnout, quiet quitting, and job switching. As event moderator, it was great to hear participants share their experiences on practicing empathy, developing nimble resilience, equitable flexibility, and how to improve “the 80% experience”. As stated in an old Harvard Business Review article - “Connect, Then Lead.” #OCTanner #PeopleMatters #HR #Leadership

What’s does this picture reveal… In talent management, we often focus on skill development, career paths, and performance metrics. But there’s another factor that’s just as important: identifying and addressing toxicity in the workplace. Toxic employees drain morale, undermine teams, and diminish productivity. A single toxic person can drive away top talent, disrupt collaboration, and negatively impact your company culture. So, what can you do as a leader? 1. Hire for culture, not just skills. Your most skilled employee may not be the best fit if they bring negativity. 2. Address toxicity early. Unchecked behavior grows. It’s critical to handle issues head-on before they spread. 3. Promote transparency and feedback. Build an environment where people can speak up and resolve conflicts before they escalate. Healthy, thriving teams aren’t just built on talent—they’re built on a foundation of respect, collaboration, and positivity. 🌱 #TalentManagement #Leadership #WorkplaceCulture #HR #BusinessTips #ToxicBehavior

Purpose Over Power Live your life, and don’t just lord over everyone else’s. Modern leadership is not about holding power—it’s about embracing purpose. When we lead with purpose, we create environments where people feel seen, heard, and valued. We move away from power for power’s sake and towards something deeper: building trust, fostering growth, and creating impact. Modern leaders must shift their mindset from control to connection, from ego to empathy. No longer must we separate personal and professional, as in today’s world they can live together. Modern leaders allow employees to bring purpose into the workplace and encourage personal goals equally as professional ones. Let’s lead in a way that empowers every voice and uplifts every story. #ModernLeadership #PurposeDrivenLeadership #EmpathyInAction Benefits of Shifting to Purpose-Driven Leadership: • Increased employee engagement: People perform better when they are motivated by a shared purpose. • Greater long-term success: Purpose-driven organizations are more adaptable and resilient in the face of change. • Improved trust and loyalty: Purpose over power fosters stronger connections with employees and customers. How to Transition: 1. Reframe success: Shift from measuring purely financial outcomes to including social and emotional impacts. 2. Communicate the 'why': Ensure your team understands the deeper purpose behind decisions and initiatives. 3. Lead with empathy: Actively listen and create spaces for your team’s voices to be heard.

In the modern work landscape where employees are demanding greater flexibility and reduced burnout and stress, and with advancing technologies and evolving work arrangements that are transforming the way we work, business leaders are being challenged with reframing their mindsets about how to maximize workforce productivity. For so long, we’ve mistakenly held onto the belief that achieving maximum productivity means squeezing out more hours from our employees, even with improved tools and systems that help us get the work done faster and smarter. Unfortunately, so many of us still get stuck on how to go about transforming our work environment into one that not only seeks to maximize productivity but where our employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. So here are a few thoughts to help you get started 👇 By prioritizing these elements, you can create a work environment where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to contribute their best. Check out this insightful article on building a culture that allows high performers to thrive. Many companies tend to concentrate on managing the output of low performers rather than nurturing and unlocking the potential of all employees.

Loved my conversation with Mary Calvin on CBS New York all about the emerging toxic workplace trend: GLOSSING! Only 15% of people feel that their company is transparent about its challenges. This lack of openness can stunt growth, hinder innovation, and erode morale. Glossing is the practice of superficially addressing or completely ignoring significant challenges, leaving underlying issues unresolved. It occurs when managers or leaders fail to openly acknowledge and confront problems, creating a culture of avoidance and diminishing employee trust. Leaders must create environments where challenges are openly discussed and addressed head-on. Do you experience this in your work?

BREAKING THE CHAINS OF FEAR IN THE WORKPLACE🥰 Check this Story: IMAGINE walking into a room where ideas are shared openly,🤷♀️ CREATIVITY THRIVES , and every team member feels VALUED .📌 BUT instead, in some workplaces, fear dominates.😊 Employees often feel they’re being watched, not for their talents, BUT for their mistakes.🤓 A CULTURE of fear can STIFLE innovation and productivity, leading people to operate within SAFE boundaries, avoiding RISKS that COULD bring BREAKTHROUGH RESULTS.💁♀️ THEREFORE replace fear with motivation, transparency, and growth, LEADERS can focus on CREATING an environment where everyone UNDERSTANDS their CONTRIBUTIONS are valued.😉 THIS is where KPIs, appraisals, and clear expectations come into play.🙏 WHEN performance METRICS are openly discussed and achievements acknowledged, employees are DRIVEN to EXCEL and collaborate RATHER than COMPETE in SECRECY. 🪇CALL TO ACTION : How does your organization address the culture of fear? Share your thoughts below and stay tuned as we dive deeper into solutions for building a thriving workplace culture! #Leadership #WorkCulture #ProductivityBoost #Transparency
