Video Thought without saying 'Zero Trust': Among other items, Sanjay Beri at Netskope brings up how Netskope can prevent risky transactions by insider threats (internal employees - on purpose or not their choosing). I'm hearing this same concern from top executives. They are all looking for a solution that doesn't yield implicit trust to users. It's not enough that they are human, that they are on a corporate laptop, that they are in the office, that they have an employee email, or that they are on a trusted SaaS application like Microsoft or Google. This is where traditional firewalls, policies, and security tools stop. What we need is further inspection of the transactions, but with a continuous adaptive risk assessment before access is granted or data is moved. On top of the risk of the user, device, network, and app mentioned above, Netskope can differentiate between 1000s of SaaS instances to provide instance awareness. We then look at the risk of the activity - maybe the user shouldn't be allowed to download or upload that file or sensitive data. Up next could be more about the risk of the behavior by the user - are they typing from Chattanooga at noon, but then in Indonesia at 12:30? We can spot the behavior and provide some intervention. Not lastly, but we then look at the type of data that is being asked for - is it low level or confidential/sensitive or in between? And what I find neat is that during this millisecond-long inspection, Netskope is applying these continuous adaptive risk assessments without having to run Data Loss Prevention (DLP). We can even provide coaching, prompt for a justification, isolate, or ask for a reauthentication - not just Block or Allow. #Netskope #GenAI #SASE #SSE #DataProtection
