Challenges in life are undeniable, but they don't have to be insurmountable. By leaning on my support system, planning ahead, and being honest about my limitations, I’ve found ways to keep moving forward. It’s not easy to balance aging parents, college-bound kids, and a demanding career, but it’s also an opportunity to grow. I’ve learned to be more compassionate—with others and with myself. I’ve developed a deeper appreciation for the people in my life and the work that I do. If you’re in a similar position, know that you’re not alone. The balancing act is hard, but with the right tools and mindset, you can find your way through it. Remember, even in the chaos, there’s room for growth, connection, and success. #constructionmanagement #constructioneducation #construction #challenges #constructiontraining Cory ThomasFisk - CM Training Expert 🚧

As this year ends and a new one begins, I find myself reflecting on a year of profound transformation. Last year, I made the difficult yet strategic decision to close my tutoring business—a choice driven by shifting priorities and a desire to pursue new professional opportunities. At the same time, I continued to manage contracted projects while embarking on a journey to better understand and secure the resources my special needs child needed, both in school and daily life. These experiences pushed me to grow in ways I hadn’t anticipated. Advocating for my child required immersing myself in learning—navigating the IEP process, mastering the intricacies of state and federal education laws, and exploring less traditional evidence-based approaches. Along the way, I encountered skepticism but remained steadfast, trusting my instincts and staying grounded. These challenges strengthened my ability to think critically, adapt under pressure, and persist—skills that have become invaluable in both my personal and professional life. Navigating this season also taught me the importance of self-care. I realized I couldn’t effectively support my son—or fulfill my professional responsibilities—without prioritizing my mental, emotional, and physical health. Taking time to restore balance allowed me to build resilience, sharpen my strategic thinking, and approach challenges with clarity and determination. In my contracted projects, I carried these lessons with me, developing innovative solutions, managing complexity, and delivering impactful results for my clients. Reflecting on this year, I’m proud of the progress I’ve made—not just for my son, who has achieved incredible milestones, but for myself as well. This season has taught me to embrace ambiguity, adapt to change, and persist in the face of uncertainty. These are lessons I carry into the new year, as I look forward to opportunities to continue growing and making a meaningful impact. To anyone facing uncertainty, remember: progress often comes in small, steady steps. Trust your instincts, lean on your strengths, and take things one day at a time. Growth isn’t always immediate, but it’s always worth it. Here’s to a year of resilience, learning, and new beginnings. 🥂 #Resilience #strategicthinking #parentadvocate #progressoverprefection #mentalhealthmatters #endofyearreflection

📝 Life offers more depth than career achievements and social standing. We often fixate on these surface-level pursuits, overlooking the broader spectrum of human experience and fulfillment. Picture 🖼️ this: Your 8-year-old shows interest in gardening after a school trip. You help him start a small vegetable patch at home. Over the years, his enthusiasm grows. By 17, he's leading a community garden project at his high school and considering a career in environmental science. This journey began with your simple act of nurturing his initial curiosity. Dr. Daniel Goleman: an expert on emotional intelligence, emphasizes the importance of guiding children through their emotions as they pursue their dreams. For instance, when a child faces disappointment, we should help them process their feelings and learn from the experience. Supporting children isn't just about being their cheerleader — it's about equipping them with tools to handle both successes and setbacks. 🙌🔥Here are some ways to nurture their dreams: 1️⃣ Expose them to various activities to help them discover their passions. 2️⃣ Teach resilience by framing setbacks as learning opportunities. 3️⃣ Listen to their ambitions without judgment. 4️⃣ Show how education can help achieve their goals. 5️⃣ Emphasize that success is about more than just career achievements. ➡️ The key is to help children become the best versions of themselves, not to mold them into what we think they should be. You became an educator to make a difference, but why does it feel like your passion for education has turned into a sacrifice? You give everything to your students, your school, and your community—sacrificing time, energy, and often your own well-being. But no matter how much you give, it never seems to be enough. Your passion is deep, but it’s leading to burnout because the balance between what you’re putting in and what you’re getting out is off. Your pay doesn’t reflect your dedication, and your personal life has been sidelined. If you continue to sacrifice your worth for your passion, the emotional toll will grow, leading to burnout and a loss of joy in the career you once loved. Without a change, the pressure will only increase, pushing you further from the life you deserve and leaving you stuck in a role where you feel undervalued. At CreateMyStory, we believe your passion should lead to success, not sacrifice. We specialize in helping educators transition into careers where their skills are valued and fairly compensated. From consulting to government, there are roles that appreciate your expertise while offering the flexibility and income you’ve been missing. You can continue making a difference in education without compromising your well-being. Ready to prioritize yourself? Book a strategic call today and let’s explore how your passion can thrive in a career that gives you both fulfillment and freedom: https://lnkd.in/gjEqSKnA or email at jjohnson.createmystory@gmail.com #TeacherLife #TeacherPassion #EducationCareers #EducatorBurnout #TeacherTransition #K12Leaders #DistrictLeadership #EducationalConsulting #EdTechJobs #TeacherEmpowerment #TeacherCareerShift #CorporateTrainingRoles #TeacherWellBeing #WorkLifeBalance #TeacherSuccess #FinancialFreedom #MoreThanTeaching #ImpactAndIncome #TeacherFuture #CareerChangeForEducators #EmpoweredTeachers #TeacherSupport #RetiredEducators #CareerGrowthForTeachers #TimeForChange #NewCareerPath
