As a founder and health advocate, the recent case of Dr Miachel Mew a TikTok-famous orthodontist really struck a chord. He was recently banned from practicing after promoting "#mewing," a technique he claimed could reshape jawlines and even enhance intelligence. Sounds "intriguing" ... right? But here’s the issue: Dr. Mew’s “orthotropic” methods, involving headgear and tongue-tie releases for children, allegedly caused real harm, including "seizure-like episodes" and severe dental issues. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫? Because, in an age where health advice goes viral 𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘴, it’s crucial we take our responsibility seriously.
