HIRING!! • • • • • • • • • • I recently conducted an experiment on X (formerly Twitter) that left me both amused and annoyed. 🙄 I posted a tweet stating I was hiring for a role, but with a twist: instead of asking candidates to send their CVs, I asked recruiters to send me an offer letter. In reality, it was a call for help 😩😂 The results were astonishing. I received over 500 applications, most of which included poorly formatted CVs and lengthy email bodies with AI-generated content. 🤦♂️ Despite not actually hiring for the position, I was disappointed by the lack of attention to detail and professionalism displayed by the applicants. 😞 However, I took the opportunity to provide feedback to some of the applicants, offering corrections and advice for future job searches. 🤗 As a reminder, attention to detail is a vital skill that recruiters look for in potential candidates. 🤝

I used this program because I wanted back into the I.T world after leaving the military. Pros for using this is you get BAH while attending a 3 month school Monday-Friday, you get access to Comptia Cert master which contains everything offered by comptia to help you study for the exams including the PBQs. Skillstorm helps you prepare for I.T technical style interviews. Here are the negatives, the instructors are either amazing or down right boring with no motivation or enthusiasm about teaching I.T and then your left to your own devices to self study which is about 85% of the time, this is mainly due to the instructors having to attend "meetings" almost every day that takes time away from teacher us students. if you lack the fortitude to teach yourself you won't pass a certification exam. The pentest side didn't have any hands on besides showing you how to download to VMware which was a huge let down. They're mainly focused on you passing the comptia pentest exam which doesn't require hands on. They claim to "Help you find a job" most of the companies they are partnered (T-Mobile) with want experience and Bachelor degrees or security clearances. The "resume expert" either will ignore your email in regards to seeing how to improve it or will email back saying it's good as is (Lazy). But this person will email and text and call you about if you found a job after you told them you decided to continue your education instead of continuing to look for a job. This company needs to look at better ways to teach like a school instead of using it as a way to get money from the government and not actually support it's veterans like it says it does.
