This month I will be partaking in the Movember challenge to raise awareness for Men’s physical & mental health! Alongside my attempt at growing a Mo I will also be running 60km across the month 🏃➡️ to raise awareness for the following key focus areas – mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. Please support by donating through my personal link: https://lnkd.in/eyPHD5v6 or via the Seven team Link below. I just thought I would add a few pretty horrific figures around mens mental health within the construction industry that I certainly will be considering whilst out on my runs. - According to IGPP, 82% of UK builders experience mental health problems due to work-related issues after research with UK tradespeople. - According to Construction News, The annual construction death-by-suicide statistic is currently seven times higher than the losses in the Grenfell tragedy. - Construction workers are six times more likely to die from mental health than a dangerous fall. - Construction workers are nearly four times more likely to take their own lives than in other sectors. #movember #menshealth #mensmentalhealth
Seven does Movember! We are raising funds for men's mental and physical health, aiming to reduce stigmas and raise awareness about preventable diseases. Our efforts are not limited to the freshly shaven gentlemen before you; the wider Seven team are also getting involved in Moving for Movember and hosting "Mo-ments" to help raise more donations. Please support us this year by following the link below: https://lnkd.in/eHHeXxi7 Hope to see our industry friends this month with some creative moustaches! #movember #menshealth

"40 Children, 1 Chair" - A Heartbreaking Reality Behind a Simple Game At first glance, it's a beautiful black-and-white video of children joyfully playing a game of musical chairs, something that brings a sense of nostalgia and peace. But beneath its innocence lies a harsh truth. This powerful campaign by Publicis Perú for Ronald McDonald House Charities reveals a devastating reality faced by families in Peru. Every day, 40 families arrive in Lima seeking shelter during their children’s critical medical treatments. However, only one family finds a place to stay at Casa Ronald due to limited resources. The metaphor of the game of musical chairs is both poignant and striking. Just as in the game, many search for a seat, but only one is available. It highlights the desperation of families who struggle to secure a safe haven during the most challenging moments of their lives. This campaign is more than an awareness initiative, it’s a call to action. By donating to Casa Ronald, we can provide these families with a “home away from home,” offering not just a roof over their heads but emotional support and comfort when they need it most. The symbolism, the storytelling, and the cause behind "40 Children, 1 Chair" deeply moved me. It’s a reminder of how creativity can drive real impact and bring attention to urgent social issues. Let’s spread the word, raise awareness, and support this incredible initiative. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these families. #SocialImpact #CreativeCampaign #CasaRonald #HealthcareSupport #Awareness

It's that time again... This month, I’m taking part in Movember, not just for a bit of fun, but to highlight an urgent issue: suicide remains the leading cause of death for men under 40. This is why charities like Movember are so vital—they support men’s mental health and wellbeing. If you’re unable to donate this month, I’d encourage you to spend some time with someone who may need it. A conversation, a check-in, or simply showing you care can make a big difference. Let’s look out for each other, and remember that every bit of support counts. #Movember #MensHealth #MentalHealthAwareness

Our partnership with Shelter is in its fourth year and like a fine wine, it’s getting better with age 🍷 This year’s campaign reveals the stark reality families face in temporary accommodation—a heartbreaking situation that a record 150,000 children in England will endure this winter - and encourages viewers to learn more about Shelter’s vital work to combat this crisis. Year four has become the most written about charity campaign of the year, earning media in: 📰 The Sun, The Mirror, Radio Times, MailOnline, THE STANDARD, The Independent, Campaign UK, The Drum, LBBonline - Little Black Book, Creative Review, shots In The Sun Online, it stands out as the only Christmas ad to earn a 5/5 rating. All this coverage is put to work to deliver, and potentially exceed fundraising and brand targets. As with all of our campaigns with Shelter, co-creation is key to representing the stories we tell as authentically as possible. In fact, Rick Dodds , our Creative Partner, spoke to The Drum about our 4-year partnership and the importance of working closely with lived experience. Impact isn’t just a buzzword—it’s something you can feel. That’s exactly what I experienced at the Gathering for Good Luncheon for Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Intermountain Area, Inc. The event was focused on raising awareness for their new facility in Lehi at the Miller Campus of Intermountain Health Primary Children’s Hospital. This space is already bringing comfort and hope to families, providing a home-away-from-home during life’s most challenging moments. Kristin Andrus shared a powerful message: building a culture of service starts with showing up—leaning in, getting your hands dirty, letting your heart break, and discovering unexpected meaning along the way. Carrie Romano, CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Intermountain Area, Inc. leads with extraordinary energy and warmth, and meeting Danika Kimball was another reminder of how this organization touches lives, both big and small. Looking for an engaging team-building activity? RMHC is inviting volunteers to serve lunch or dinner at their facilities. It’s a hands-on way to come together, roll up your sleeves, and make a real difference for families when they need it most. 🌟🌟🌟 Email Ashley to learn more & sign up: ashleyparks@rmhslc.org Have you ever volunteered at Ronald McDonald House Charities? I want to hear about your experience in the comments.👇🏼 This is what it’s all about: showing up when it matters most. #communityimpact #RMHC #service #showup #healthcare

Christmas is coming! What is a joyous time for many brings dread for others. Feeding Families (UK) has always had Christmas at its core as that's how we got started and the need never gets less. We launched our Christmas campaign this week with the support of Kim McGuinness, North East Mayor. Especially if you are local to us (but you don't have to be), can you do one of the following: 1. Make a donation which will fill a box with food for a family. https://lnkd.in/dWD9UpAy 2. Do a fundraising event in your workplace. (Let us know if you need some support.) 3. Do a food collection at work or in your street (great to get the kids involved with!). We have flyers and collection boxes if you want to pick some up. 4. Volunteer - we need people to drive our vans and pack our boxes and there are still some spaces available. You can register here https://lnkd.in/esamzP4q A little bit of your time and effort, when added to everyone else's, will make a massive difference to thousands of home this year. Don't scroll by - be the solution to someone's need this year.
Mayor calls for action to support families in need “Feeding Families demonstrates the compassionate, pragmatic and creative thinking we need to help more families. By partnering with community organisations like Feeding Families we can help families in the here and now, and make sure they find the support they need to get back on their feet and thrive.” North East mayor Kim McGuinness is urging businesses and residents to join efforts to support thousands of families facing food insecurity this Christmas. Her appeal came at a Feeding Families (UK) and North East Chamber of Commerce event, with the charity launching a £213,700 Festive Campaign to provide food boxes and support packages to over 8,500 families and individuals in need. This November, I finally start taking serious steps to improve my own physical health and fitness, and all for a good cause! ManHealth is launching a sponsored challenge to raise vital funds for men's health, starting on November 1st. You can get involved yourself on the link below: https://lnkd.in/exzgMA-Z Or if you are feeling charitable enough to sponsor me, you can use the link below: https://lnkd.in/eupP8h-m It doesn't matter if you're male or female, we all have men in our lives. Fathers, husbands, partners, brothers, uncles, cousins and friends. Imagine all of them together, looking at them and knowing that statistically 1 in 5 of them will die before the age of 65 from a preventable illness. But we can change this narrative together! #menshealth #manhealth #fundraising #awareness #jointhechallenge #movember
