Our next Open, Online It's a Playground (IAP) Wellbeing Education Workshop is on An Introduction to Mental Health Awareness (with discussion around movement for mental health). ⠀⠀ Head here to get your free ticket now: https://bit.ly/4adLcEU We all have mental health and we could probably all do a little more to look after our mental fitness. Join this session to increase your understanding about what mental health is, what influences it and how we can support ourselves and each other. This 60 minute workshop will be facilitated by Laura Rigden, Founder of It's a Playground and will cover:⠀ ⠀ - What is mental health? - Explore the impact of mental health issues and stigma - Some basic ways to look after our wellbeing (mental, physical and social) - An introduction to the stress container concept and tool - Noticing signs of poor mental health in ourselves and others - Gaining confidence to support others The workshop will be a blend of anonymous polls, videos, activities and chat engagement.⠀ ⠀ It'll also be an opportunity to connect with others and share tips and tools with each other and you’ll receive a digital handout which will include additional resources to share with your community.⠀ ⠀⠀ These IAP Wellbeing Calendar sessions are free for 2024 for anyone living or working in the Borough of Lambeth, London and for any MHFAiders, SFAiders or Wellbeing Champions that have accessed their certifications through It's a Playground. With World Mental Health Day being October 10th, we here at Olia Wellness and Counselling, thought it appropriate to offer some strategies in the face of the darker days, adjustments back to work or school post summer vacations and the anticipation of the next holiday being a little further afield than you might like. Whether you or your kiddos/family are struggling to adjust to the new schedule, creating a routine can often provide that consistency and comfort we so often need to alleviate any additional worry or anxiety. As the intensity of our days increase, so too must we balance the scale by tapping more heavily into the ways in which we support ourselves. What might your recipe for success look like? With the uptick of stress and overwhelm, notice what you choose to lean into so as to balance the scale. While such strategies or coping tools may support you in the short-term, are they adaptive, sustainable and best practice for you in the longterm? Last and certainly not the least, remember that life is a journey not meant to be experienced alone. Whether it be a friend, colleague, coach, the mail person or a professional, know that there are people ready and willing to support. Feel free to reach out if need be.
