Fellow cybersecurity professionals... As you know all to well, the bad guys don't make it obvious they are attacking you. And as the cybersecurity industry has been saying for a long while now, it's not a matter of "if" you get hit, it's a matter of "when". There is also a lot of talk in the industry lately around how AI can now be used to be FASTER than the bad guys. Cisco has been spending a lot of R&D in this space, and we are now giving our customers the ability to harness their data, our data, and AI to do just that. One really cool example is how Cisco is leveraging data, AI, and automation to detect patterns and telemetry that may signal an event is brewing, and then trigger automated process to protect your data from said possible attack. Cisco has partnered with a few leading enterprise data back-up platforms to create unique IP and capability to do just this. Below you will find an example of how Cisco has integrated Cisco XDR with Cohesity to leverage data and AI to determine if an attack is brewing, what data that attack is targeting, and then automatically generates an immutable backup of that target data so as to protect the enterprise from risk. We are facing a complete transformation of the distribution system for cybersecurity - from a predominantly licence and hardware-driven business model to an ‘as-a-service’ world. The old and the new can co-exist, but they must be considered separately and different strategies developed accordingly.
