I don’t share much of my personal life in LinkedIn but when I feel proud have to share it.🙏💙 A truly proud moment seeing our youngest volunteers at @toydriveandevents! Our grandchildren are helping sort toys and learning about the mission we’ve been passionate about for years. Ethan has been attending our Toy Drives since he was a baby—9 years strong! While our other grandkids aren’t ready for “Breakfast with Santa” just yet, we’re excited to involve them next season. For now, we’re keeping the focus on those who need it most, but even our toddler has noticed the toys and never asked for one. 🥰🙏 We take time to explain why it’s important to give and how our foundation is helping make a difference. As we approach our cut-off date of December 6th, we reflect on gratitude—the quality of being thankful and returning kindness. As we enter the last month of 2024, we’re filled with so much appreciation for all the support we’ve received since starting our nonprofit. 15 holiday seasons later, we still feel the same emotions, even a few tears, as we look back on all the memories. That’s what truly matters: the drive to continue helping low-income children and families in need. Let’s make 2024 the best year yet! 🥳🙏🥰 #Gratitude #ToyDrive #HolidaySeason #GivingBack #CommunitySupport #Blessed #Nonprofit #ToyDriveAndEvents #FamilyGiving #MakingMemories #ReflectAndGive Highlight

🧸 From Dust Collectors to Joy Bringers: A Lesson in Meaningful Giving As a leader, I'm accustomed to tackling complex problems. Recently, though, I encountered a challenge closer to home that touched my heart - finding a new purpose for my daughter's cherished collection of soft toys. These weren't just objects; they held memories of her childhood, carefully preserved over the years. During a recent decluttering, we realized it was time to let them go. But simply discarding them felt wrong. We wanted these once-loved companions to bring joy to other children. For months, we searched for the right place to donate them, hoping to make a meaningful impact. Many organizations preferred monetary donations, which is understandable given their needs. Yet, we felt these toys had more to offer than their monetary value. Just as we were losing hope, my wife discovered a children's service in desperate need of exactly what we had. In that moment, what could have been waste transformed into a source of comfort and happiness for deserving kids. The thought of these toys bringing smiles to children's faces filled us with warmth and purpose. This experience was a powerful reminder that sometimes the most meaningful solutions aren't about money, but about connecting resources with needs. Whether in technology or in our personal lives, it's about finding the right match and making a difference. I encourage you to look around your own home. What items gathering dust could brighten someone else's life? Perhaps that suit you've outgrown could help someone land their dream job, or those old books could spark a love of reading in a child. Every item has the potential to change a life when placed in the right hands. Have you ever turned 'clutter' into a meaningful contribution? I'd love to hear your stories in the comments below. Let's inspire each other to find creative ways to give back to our communities and make a positive impact, one small gesture at a time. https://lnkd.in/gRe7ZrzD #GivingBack #CommunityImpact #LeadershipLessons

⚖️ Balancing Achievement and Uncertainty: My Family’s Fight for Stability ⚖️ I just received the physical copy of my latest qualification—a symbol of weeks of hard work, late nights, and unwavering determination. I should be proud, and part of me is. But as I hold this certificate, I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of uncertainty. What does this achievement mean when I don’t even know where my children and I will be living next week? Despite everything I’ve fought for, we’re still facing the very real and frightening prospect of being street homeless. It’s hard to describe the feeling—reaching a milestone that should mark progress and stability, yet still being on the edge because in the Matrix we’re currently lacking the most basic necessity: a settled home and this reality is overshadowing most things. I’ve worked so hard to get here, but now, more than ever, I’m fighting for my family’s future, for a safe place for my kids to sleep at night. I’ve set up a GoFundMe page to help us navigate this incredibly difficult time. If you’re able, please consider donating or sharing—it would mean everything to us right now. The link is in the comments below. I am so grateful to anyone who can offer support, whether it’s financial or simply sharing my posts. Your kindness and generosity could be the reason we’re able to keep going. #AchievementUnlocked #Resilience #HomelessnessAwareness #SupportNeeded #GoFundMe #HelpNeeded #FamilyFirst #KeepingMyKidsSafe #CommunityMatters #OvercomingObstacles #StayStrong #OneDayAtATime #MentalHealthMatters #CompassionInAction #WeAreStrongerTogether

😬 They were both so nervous the first time they met - cooking a taco dinner together at the foster family’s home. Now they call each other “family.” Three years ago these two were matched through our Dare to Dream mentorship program. Emily walked alongside her mentee as she turned 18 and navigated independent living as a young adult (https://lnkd.in/gqGP4z2C) - never with the intention to solve problems for her mentee, but rather to guide her and wade through the complicated systems together. “I see how exhausting and overwhelming it is for kids in care, and it wears on her. She’s a motivated, powerhouse of a kid, who desperately wants to make her own choices and be independent. But it’s discouraging every time she sees a new process come up, knowing what she’s going to have to go through. This is something a kid from a stable home would never have to think about.” Even as a mentor, Emily doesn’t exactly know how help either. “It’s like a foreign language and a different set of rules that aren’t part of most people’s lives.” Emily has seen firsthand the complexity for a teen to navigate the world on their own- the abrupt transition when they age out of care, and how easy it is to fall under the weight of it all. “For kids who don’t have a support system around them, it’s clear to see how they could end up homeless and are faced with unimaginable hardships. Fortunately, my mentee sees possibilities now that seemed hopeless when I first met her.” 💫 For teens in foster care, having consistent, healthy adults who show up for them can make all the difference. So far, so good: I was sharing some good news with my friend, Miracle, about how the planning for #TheLightHouseProject is going, and she reminded me of the importance of documenting the process. Even as the emotions course through my veins!!! It's 67 days until the Big Day, and about 23 since I started working with an amazing team of volunteers to ensure the project's success. Even with the team, I am beyond grateful to have the support of another friend, Favour Osemwegie , in brainstorming and checking parts that would either threaten to overwhelm me or slip into the shadows of my memory. Here are some highlights that have me grinning from ear to ear: ✨ Theresa's LightHouse now has official pages on LinkedIn and Instagram! (Follow us on IG: @theresaslighthouse) ✨ The team is working hard to post educational and engaging posts on both platforms and our website. (Read our blog posts on https://lnkd.in/d3Q6BczJ) ✨ Ms. Gladys Oteyi has volunteered her services as a tutor for the Reading Intervention next year. The Math & Reading Intervention is the second phase of The Lighthouse Project and will span January to April 2025. ✨ Another friend and namesake, Andrew Isaiah-Priye pulled a "let me know what you need and when you need it" on me. These occurrences, no matter how little they may seem, have made me exceedingly happy since last week. As a team, we'll keep pushing forward to ensure that the project is a success. ✊🏾💪🏾 And hey! Even if you're not on the team, you too can join us to ensure the success of the project. How? ➖ Through donations ➖ By spreading the word on your social media ➖ In-kind contributions like educational materials. I know how exhilarating #SharedMoments made me feel last year, with your help, I know this year is going to top that feeling! #thelighthouseproject #TLH #project #journaling #specialneeds #advocacy #learningdisabilities #friends #team

The melody of hope starts with a single note – the scratch of a pencil on a page. Every child carries a spark within them, a tiny ember yearning to become a wildfire of potential but some are held back by the chains of circumstance and left with a flicker of hope. This is where we, Selfless Sewa steps in with the impressive strength of our dedicated volunteers to rekindle the flame of hope. Our education drive isn’t just about textbooks and tests; it’s about igniting a fire within, a fire that illuminate the path towards a brighter future. Our heart overflow with compassion’s tears, when we see little hesitant hand reaching out to grasp a book, the furrowed brow etched with concentration as a new world unfolds on its pages. It's the shy flicker of hope in a child's eyes, a silent plea, "Can I learn too?" With our numerous visits and interaction with these children, we have learnt a powerful truth: Life may fling its harshest storms at these children, yet they stand unwavering. Their enthusiastic participation isn’t just a mere activity; it's a testament to the indomitable spirit that burns bright within them. This left us speechless and in awe of admiration. These children are warriors, waiting for a kindred spirit to join their fight. We invite you to answer their call. We invite you to become a part of their journey, and let’s together illuminates their path towards a brighter future.💙🫶🏻 • • #selflesssewa #LearnWithSelflessSewa #HopeForAll #EducationForAll #HopeInAction #LearningWithoutLimits #HopeFoundationWorks #socialgood #volunteer #HopeForChange #socialwork #EmpowerWithHope #sustainability #impact #charity #YourCity #volunteering #helpothers #supportneeded #kindness #empowerment #theoryofchange #SupportSelflesssewa #makingdifference #nonprofit #humanity

Ever heard the 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴? Back in 1621, Pilgrims and Native Americans came together to celebrate a Harvest Feast—sharing food, gratitude, and hope for a better future. That simple act of giving back laid the foundation for what we now call Thanksgiving. It wasn’t about having everything perfect. It was about giving back and building something greater together. At Pronix, we carry that spirit forward. In today’s digital world, giving back takes a new form: ➣ Bridging the digital divide with education initiatives. ➣ Empowering communities through technology. ➣ Supporting nonprofits to scale their impact. I am grateful for all our partners, associates, employees, and clients who help us make a difference. Without you, none of this would be possible. 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝘁 PRONIX INC Giving back isn’t just a tradition—it’s our responsibility. How are you giving back this Thanksgiving? What’s your plan for today? Let's chat in the comments!

What does 500 Rupees mean to you? Recently, as Phase 1 of our program came to a close, we organized a comic strip exhibit. It was on a weekday, a working day for most. Yet, parents made it a point to be there. They came not because it was easy, but because it mattered. They came to witness what their children had created, what they had learned, what they had become. One parent’s struggle with her child in particular stayed with me. She shared her struggles—the pain of watching her child struggle in school, of feeling like opportunities were slipping away. Her child couldn’t speak English, and couldn’t express themselves in a language the world often demands. That gap, that challenge, it affected their relationship. She told me she hesitated at first to send her child to our program, unsure if it would make a difference. But that day, she saw her child stand tall, presenting a story, written in English, spoken in English, and created with pride. She saw a spark in her child that she hadn’t seen before. In that moment, she told me, she saw hope. She saw possibility. And as she left, she made a gesture that humbled me to my core. She donated 500 rupees to our fundraising efforts. That 500 rupees may not seem like much to someone who earns 100x that amount. But to a family working hard just to make ends meet, it is significant. It is a sacrifice. It is a belief. That moment, that conversation, it showed me something powerful. It showed me that we’re not just running a program. We’re building a bridge Between potential and opportunity Between hesitation and belief Between children and their futures. It reminded me that this work is not just about English, or academics, or comic strips. It’s about parents believing in their children again. It’s about communities believing in what’s possible when we come together. So, as an organization, we must keep moving forward. Forward, because there are more parents like her, waiting for that spark. Forward, because there are more children ready to take that leap. Forward, because every step we take is a step toward a future where no child is left behind, where no potential is wasted, where no dream is too far out of reach. #hope #moveforward #inspiration #motivation #dogood #dobetter

Giving isn’t a resolution; it’s a way of life. Let’s talk about the year-end good deed rush. Four in ten adults are cramming in kindness before 2024 ends, like it’s the deadline for a college essay. And hey, we love to see it, but here’s the real question: Why does giving back always feel like a December sport? Giving isn’t a New Year’s resolution, and it’s not just for the holidays. It’s a way of showing up, again and again, no matter the time of year. You don’t need confetti or countdowns to start. So let’s skip the last-minute scramble and make giving a daily habit. Because real change? It doesn’t wait for a calendar flip. 🤷 #Hope2Give #TransactWithPurpose #MissionTrip #BeyondDonations #LeadWithPurpose #BusinessForGood #CommunityDriven #EverydayGiving #SmallActsBigImpact #FindYourMoment
