ICYMI and didn’t see the news…check out our partnership with National Grid on a macroeconomic analysis for their upcoming transmission upgrade project across upstate New York! The project and West Monroe’s macroeconomic analysis were featured in T&D World. At West Monroe, we're doubling down on our commitment to helping utilities strengthen their transmission resilience, especially as extreme weather events are becoming increasingly pervasive. With hurricanes and wildfires causing more severe damage to electrical infrastructure, it's crucial for electric utilities and transmission companies to be proactive in improving their resilience. By drawing lessons from past incidents, investing in infrastructure and technology, and collaborating closely with stakeholders, the industry can better tackle the challenges of a changing climate and an increasingly unpredictable environment – and we’re here to help! Message me to hear about how we're revolutionizing transmission resilience or click here to learn more about what we do in this space: https://ter.li/yr1od7

"It’s arithmetic. We are subtracting dispatchable resources at a pace that’s not sustainable, and we can’t build dispatchable resources to replace the dispatchable resources we’re shutting down. We’re pushing them off the grid far too quickly for any replacement resources to take up the slack. That’s why we’re heading for crisis. Its simple subtraction.” FERC Commissioner Mark Christie continues to sound the alarm about the looming adequacy and reliability crisis on US power systems due to policy driven synchronous generation retirements... https://lnkd.in/g2S_D27N

You can’t say we haven’t had enough warning. Where is the energy “transition” plan - who is responsible for implementing the plan, who is accountable for success or failure of the plan, who is/was or can be consulted about the plan and who is/was informed of the plan’s impact on them?

#DYK: Over the last two years, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has made $868 million available to support states, Tribes, and communities making progress towards their clean energy goals. At the Grid Deployment Office, we’ve so far invested $800 million to 48 states, Washington D.C., three territories, and 169 Tribes through Grid Resilience State/Tribal Formula Grants. Using this funding, recipients will support a diverse set of projects, with priority given to efforts that generate the greatest community benefit providing clean, affordable, and reliable energy.
