📊 The Numbers Tell a Story of Health Inequity: In South Dakota, 546 out of 649 syphilis cases were diagnosed in Native American communities - which represent just 9% of the state's population. This stark disparity raises critical questions: - How do we ensure our clinical research infrastructure reaches communities bearing the highest disease burden? 🦠 - What role does accessible research technology play in addressing health inequities? 👩🏽🔬 The answer lies in democratizing clinical research tools and empowering local healthcare providers with the right resources. 🔋👩🏽⚕️ That's where Castor for Impact comes in. Our latest case study, in partnership with The Villages Health System, LLC, showcases how health systems can effectively engage their patients and identify behavioral health risk in Medicare populations. The Villages Health already established a hugely successful collaborative care program, known as Tandem Care, which increased behavioral health access and lowered total costs by 39%. With NeuroFlow, The Villages was able to scale the impact of this program by systematically identifying those in need of behavioral health support and improving care coordination. In one cohort, the health system identified that 24% of patients, who were not previously enrolled in Tandem Care, had behavioral health needs and would benefit from this program. Measurement-based care is a common factor in effective integrated care models. According to new research out this month (which our own Anna Ratzliff worked on!), specialty behavioral health and primary care providers alike often under-utilize behavioral health measures with patients. However, measurement-based care can improve health outcomes and increase behavioral health care access (e.g., earlier symptom identification and referral). Want to read more about measurement-based care? Check out the article link in the comments below! #MeasurementBasedCare #IntegratedCare #SpringerLink

For any facility looking to participate in New Jersey’s Quality Payment Program (QIP-NJ), the prospect of examining and inputting data for every single patient within each behavioral health or maternal health measure can be quite daunting. Due to this, certain measures within these categories allow for the use of sampling to estimate quality improvement accurately and efficiently. In our latest blog post, we break down sample sizes, where sampling is permitted, and examples based on NJDOH's Databook. Learn more about utilizing sampling for QIP: https://lnkd.in/eGPKsTeb #qip #njhealth #behavioralhealth #maternalhealth
