📚🌍 National Health Education Week is a perfect time to reflect on how education shapes the future of global health. At One Health Society, we explore the vital connections between human health, the environment, and wildlife. Health doesn’t exist in a vacuum - what happens in one sphere affects the other. By raising awareness of these intricate connections, we aim to inspire actions that protect and uplift all forms of life on Earth. Explore how we’re helping to reshape the way we think about health at: https://bit.ly/4dItSuf #HealthEducationWeek #OneHealthInAction #KnowledgeForSustainability

Can we teach school children to sniff out dodgy health claims? Yes we can! Minervation are delighted to work with Informed Health Choices project, an international collaboration which has done just this for schools. They evaluated their resources in a large randomised trial involving hundreds of schools, in both high and low resource settings. The results showed a large, positive effect on learning outcomes! We recently completed a refurbishment of their website, which contains all of their resources with translations in 20 languages. There's never been a more important time for this work. Please share with any interested colleagues Anna Dominiczak DBE, MD, FRCP, FAHA, FRSE, FAMSci Matthew Prescott Oxman Find out more and access the free resources here: https://lnkd.in/enhe2dYS Read about how we redesigned the website here: https://lnkd.in/eJYcfK4t

😳 Bullshit detection alert!!! 😳 School children are great at sniffing out dodgy health claims, and it's a good job too, because social media is increasingly awash with flakey beauty products, dodgy dietary supplements and a million other ways to waste your time and money. We (Minervation) have built the Informed Health Choices project website, which contains a huge collection of educational resources for primary and secondary school children. If you want to help young people learn how to detect bullshit, look no further!

The project collaborates with young people with SEND, their families, school staff, and policymakers to co-design healthier food environments in special schools and alternative provision settings. Keep an eye out for a policy brief, launching early next year! Discover more about Adapt-Ed: http://bit.ly/41xA1qb This study is funded by the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR).
