Recently I had the opportunity to attend the Youth Action for Climate and Clean Air Now webinar organized by the Climate & Clean Air Coalition in partnership with Children and Youth Major Group to UNEP, FACE Intergenerational Justice , NDC Partnership, OpenAQ Inc & SEI — Stockholm Environment Institute , and it was truly inspiring! It was fantastic connecting with passionate young professionals from around the globe and exchanging ideas on pressing environmental issues. Together, we delved into the critical role Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (SLCPs) play in climate change and the urgent need to educate and raise awareness about sustainable solutions. One of the key takeaways was the importance of engaging young people in policy-making processes and encouraging involvement in environmental NGOs. By empowering the next generation, we can drive meaningful advocacy and policy change for cleaner air and a healthier planet. Moreover, we discussed the significance of investing in green jobs and exploring innovative solutions for clean air. These efforts are pivotal in creating a sustainable future and mitigating the impact of climate change. Finally I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Janna Radi Mohamed , Deladem K., Laura serna mosquera and the rest of the speakers for enriching the discussion and providing a deeper understanding of the critical issues at hand. Let's continue working together to champion environmental stewardship and pave the way for a cleaner, greener tomorrow! 🌿💪 #ClimateAction #YouthLeadership #CleanAirNow

Thank you Anne LE GUENNEC for the nomination. 🌎 As you all know, today is the United Nations #WorldEnvironmentDay - a global day dedicated to inspiring worldwide environmental awareness and positive change. On this day, above all others, it is time for us to mobilize in the name of #ecologicaltransformation. 🤝 I frequently meet with customers and act for ecological transformation by intentionally looking and listening to their challenges to help find answers to the most significant water challenges of our time. I am a member of #Team66… but are you? ❓ I ask because Veolia has published the results of its second Ecological Transformation Barometer in which 89% of the world's population is convinced that #climatechange is happening. This highlights the growing support among the public for the scientific research and consensus that human activities are causing our climate to change. ❗ Yet, 66% of people worldwide prefer action over inaction regarding ecological transformation. This 66% is a step forward, but if we are to succeed we need everyone on board. 💦 For that reason, this World Environment Day, we are asking you to join #Team66 and help us create a ripple effect of positive change . We have the power to drive real progress, but it will take a united front. Who's with me? I nominate Anne Abraham, Aurélie Lapidus, Christèle DROLON, Annabel Mouquet, FREDERIC THERY, Jean-Baptiste Thubert, Richard Gray & CHEYLAN THOMAS #WorldEnvironmentDay #EcologicalTransformation #ClimateAction #GreenUp

“By improving verbal, visual and structural flexibility — as nature so deftly does — we might be able to get climate and sustainability to stick around and stay through the next administration locally and federally.” ➡️ The problem: Environmental programming risks getting axed by incoming conservative administrations in local and national governments. ➡️ Why it matters: Climate action and policy are essential to our survival, so making the work durable, regardless of political leadership, is essential. ➡️ The solution: Taking lessons from biomimicry, we can keep climate work around by staying nimble and flexible, as nature illustrates below My latest for Apolitical Apolitical Foundation https://lnkd.in/eZM289R9

World Environment Day: Are We Doing Enough? Last Wednesday, June 5, 2024, we commemorated World Environment Day. But have we truly done right by our environment? Sadly, all indications point to No. Individually and collectively, we have contributed to environmental degradation by not fully committing to mitigating risks and restoring our planet. How often have we seen ADULTS shamelessly throwing trash out of car windows? How many times have we left lights on while rushing to catch a bus or meet a friend? How frequently have we wasted water that could have been used for another task? Have we made genuine efforts to educate future generations about the importance of environmental protection and restoration? The answer is often no. We need to up our game, or the future looks bleak for coming generations. I urge everyone to play their role, no matter how small, in making our environment better. This responsibility cannot be left solely to institutions and governments; it begins with us. If we fail to act, nature will, and it won't be kind. #WorldEnvironmentDay #Sustainability #EnvironmentalResponsibility #CleanEnergy #WaterConservation #CommunityEfforts #Networking #Mentorship #Leadership #FutureLeaders #LinkedInConnections

Environmental justice is a key theme at this year’s #ClimateWeekNYC. What does this mean? 🟢 The effects of a changing climate are not well distributed and vulnerable communities are worst impacted. 🟢 And there is a risk that the challenges of decarbonisation will be felt most by those who have already shouldered the negative effects of historical societal shifts. 🟢 This is why we must embed human rights and #environmentaljustice into net zero transitions at their very inception. Giving a meaningful platform to workers, Indigenous groups and local communities is key to ensuring the challenges of #decarbonisation are shared fairly and the benefits of #netzero distributed equitably. JUST Stories is IHRB’s two-year project dedicated to finding and telling stories about the people decarbonising in a way that doesn’t harm - and actually creates opportunities for - people living through this change. ▶️ For more information - and to share your JUST Stories - check out https://buff.ly/3Y1IzCr

We can't change the damage we've already done to the planet. But we can try to make it better. ♻️ Yes, we know this is the third awareness or celebration day that we've talked about this week, but they're all too important to ignore. The United Nations created World Environment Day, held today, to highlight that the protection and health of the environment is a major issue which affects the well-being of people, and economic development across the globe. 🌎 So we can't change the past, but we can change the future. The focus this year is on generation and restoration, and that means we can regrow forests, we can revive water sources and we can nurse soil to health to ensure our world continues to bloom for future generations. 🌻 We have the technology to improve the world. We can make it happen. It's going to be difficult, but we must act now before we lose our window of opportunity and the damage is irreparable. We've only got one planet, so we have to look after it. Check out our Environmental, Social & Governance Collection for more information about how you can do your bit. We'll link it in the comments. 👇🏻 #generationrestoration #worldenvironmentday #ESG
