Imagine being on a flight and you hear the announcement over the intercom from the pilot saying, they are not qualified to land the plane at said destination. Well, an Alaska Airlines flight diverts after pilots shocking confession: ‘Not Qualified To Land’ at Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Before flying an aircraft, pilots must conduct several critical tasks to ensure the safety and readiness of the aircraft, the crew, and the passengers. Conducting pre-flight tasks thoroughly helps ensure a safe and successful flight. What’s surprising about this incident is that when pilots transition to a new type of aircraft (e.g., from a Boeing 737 to a Boeing 777), they must complete type rating training specific to that aircraft. This includes both ground school and simulator training. Overall, pilots are required to undergo regular training to maintain their proficiency and ensure they can safely operate the aircraft. The frequency of this training depends on various factors, including regulatory requirements, the type of aircraft, and the pilot's experience. #vulnerabilityassessment #safetyandsecurity

✈️Aircraft navigation lights are used to indicate an aircraft’s position and orientation to other pilots and to avoid collisions; Red Light: Positioned on the left wingtip. Green Light: Positioned on the right wingtip. White Light: Positioned on the tail or rear of the aircraft. These lights are used as follows: Red Light: Indicates the left side of the aircraft. Green Light: Indicates the right side of the aircraft. White Light: Shows the rear of the aircraft. In addition to these, aircraft may also have: Anti-collision lights: Typically flashing white or red lights that enhance visibility. Landing lights: Used during takeoff, landing, and taxiing. These lights help pilots determine the orientation of other aircraft and ensure safe separation during flight. #aviationdaily #aviationknowledge #aviation #NavigationLights Credits: ig/ @Aviation Review Mate

✈️ One of the most astonishing stories in aviation history is that of Aloha Airlines Flight 243 🌍, where a Boeing 737 lost part of its roof mid-flight! 😱 ✅️ On April 28, 1988, metal fatigue caused 18 feet of the fuselage roof to tear off. ✅️ Thanks to the heroic efforts of Captain Robert Schornstheimer and his crew, the plane made an emergency landing in Maui, saving 89 lives 🙌. ✅️ Investigations revealed the accident stemmed from overlooked maintenance issues, including corrosion and cracks. ✅️ This incident reshaped global maintenance and inspection standards, making the skies safer for everyone 🌟. This case remains a cornerstone of aviation safety and an essential study in emergency management for pilots. 🛫 #AviationSafety #AviationSecurity #Training #WorkplaceSafety #AirlineOperator #SafetyFirst

Aircraft Navigation Lights✈️✈️✈️ In aircraft, there are typically three kinds of navigation lights: Red Navigation Light: This is located on the left wingtip of the aircraft. Its purpose is to indicate the port (left) side of the aircraft to other pilots and observers. Green Navigation Light: This is located on the right wingtip of the aircraft. It indicates the starboard (right) side of the aircraft. White Navigation Light: This is typically located on the tail of the aircraft. Its primary function is to provide illumination to the rear of the aircraft and to indicate the presence of an aircraft to others from behind. These lights are essential for visibility during nighttime operations and in conditions where visibility is reduced, ensuring safe operations by indicating the direction an aircraft is moving and its orientation relative to other aircraft. #aircraft #aircraftlovers #NavigationLights #aviation #aviationdaily #AviationLearning #AviationEducation #SasidharanMurugan #Itzmemsd
