Speaking from my own experience, Career Transition Partnership offer a fantastic service, so I am looking forward to the CTP Bristol Employment Fair. My 2 cents? Nobody should be leaving their respective service struggling to find employment, you don't deserve that after the sacrifices you have made. But you still must earn it. By attending events like these you are pushing from the outside, but you also need someone to pull you in from the inside. In a world with ever increasing use of AI for CV screening, I cannot stress enough the importance of getting face to face with potential employers. Employment fairs provide you with a golden opportunity for networking with people on your transition journey to initiate that pull. No matter how far along the transition you are, I implore you to attend, and if you can't make this one, go to the next one, it's worth a mere 1 day of GRT. There are plenty of service leavers in my network (and beyond) with more experienced that I, and some currently in transition, I would love to hear: what advice you would give a service leaver? or advice you have received that was useful to you?
We're only a week away from our Bristol Employment Fair, which will be our biggest event in history. More than 130 exhibitors will be there on the day, and we've got plenty of Service leavers booked on too. As with all of our Employment Fairs, this event offers an invaluable opportunity to find your new career and discover opportunities. If you haven't already booked your place, give us a call on 0203 162 4410 or hit this link - https://bit.ly/CTPEF_SW24 For a taste of what to expect, check out our recent highlights video from Belfast - https://lnkd.in/eStfdW6E See you there! #CTP #CTPEF #EmploymentFair #networking #jobs #careers #vacancies #transition

On April 20, 2024, Best Buddies Philippines hosted the 7th session of the Pre-Employment Program alongside Southstar Drug at Bayer Philippines. Centered on the application process, the participants learned multiple tips in preparing an application and the different avenues where they can apply for work. One of which is applying via LinkedIn, where our facilitator Karen Chien Rodriguez, MSW, gave a step-by-step discussion. Additionally, our participants learned how to prepare and make use of job fairs as an alternative option for applications. To give them this experience, we conducted a short sample job fair where they start from filling out their mock application to presenting themselves to different hiring managers. In this video, we revisit the learning session to show the progress of PEP. Hear from our partners, how inclusion has made a change for them and how it can change their workplace. We want to recognize our partners and sponsors who believes in creating an inclusive workplace, as they have given us unyielding support for the Pre-Employment Program. Together, we make waves for change. Looking forward to the next session in this journey of growth.

On Wednesday, we held our seventh Employment Fair of the year, down in the South West at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol. It was our biggest ever event in terms of Exhibitor numbers, with 130 attending on the day, along with a far greater number of Service leavers than at the same event in 2023. It was incredible to see the transformation in confidence of so many Service leavers over the course of the day - we know better than anyone how overwhelming events like these can feel, and we speak to so many who aren't sure where to start, or how to approach the day. Despite that, the nerves and uncertainty invariably turn to optimism and assuredness in the space of a few hours, which highlights a Service leaver's ability to adapt and overcome. Check out some of the event feedback, and the highlights video below! 👌🏼 “Met some inspirational people and am truly positive of a future role. A big thank you to the companies that supported this event.” 👍🏼 “A lot of conversations to contemplate and opportunities I had never even considered. Career Transition Partnership, thank you for organising, it has given me a lot to think about.” 😍 “With 130 employer stands and approximately 500 overwhelmed faces, it was a joy to offer our support and encouragement.” 💜 “Had the pleasure of attending the Career Transition Partnership career fair in Bristol today and would like to say a special thanks to the organisers for putting together such a diverse and insightful event.” If you’d like to attend any of our remaining Employment Fairs, head over to ctp.org.uk/events, or give us a call on 0203 162 4410 to book your place. #CTP #CTPEF #EmploymentFair #networking #Serviceleaver #jobfinding #vacancies #careers #opportunities

So important to get the next generation engaged in the business of designing our built environment for the benefit of society and the natural world.
We recently participated in career fairs at The Australian National University (ANU) and the University of Melbourne. Our team from ACT and Victoria shared some information about ACOR's Graduate Development Program and how they can kick-start their careers with us. We're also excited to announce that we'll be attending The Big Meet at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on March 15th, 2024. Our Queensland team will be there to answer any questions you may have about our graduate program. 🚀 Incredible turnout at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) job fair on July 31, 2024, in Toronto! Over 37,000 applicants, predominantly young people aged 14 to 29, showcased the fierce competition in today’s labor market. Standing in a queue of over 4,000 hopefuls at the Enercare Centre underscores the strong demand for both part-time and full-time opportunities. Key Takeaways: 1. **Youth Dominance**: A significant portion of applicants were young, highlighting the vital role youth employment plays in the job market dynamics. 2. **Market Realities**: Despite the massive turnout, only about 5,000 jobs are available, reflecting the challenging job environment. 3. **Engagement and Preparation**: With increasing competition, candidates must invest in skill-building and networking to stand out. Implications for Recruiters: It's crucial to understand youth employment trends and adapt strategies to attract and retain younger talent. Investing in engagement platforms and skill development programs can create a more robust talent pipeline. 💬 How do you see the trend of youth dominance influencing recruitment strategies? Share your thoughts and let's discuss how we can better support this vital segment of the workforce!

Unemployed Notes #2 Last Saturday while every unemployed IT person was having fun in Vilnius, due to some scheduling issues had to be content with the job fair in Klaipeda. On the fun side of things, I did visit one in Kaunas last month, so a comparison is in order. ▪ Klaipeda did have a much better staffing situation in the booths. Small booths were run by at least 2 people, whereas the bigger ones had 3-4; ▪ Klaipeda staff was more proactive. Got approached first in most of the booths I stopped at; ▪ Kaunas had more variety in industries represented; ▪ Both were primarily focused on low-level employees but seems like Klaipeda had more offers for more educated/experienced ones; ▪ Both would have been great for engineers; ▪ Kaunas was more busy, crowded, and in turn, loud. I believe it was caused by the space allocated. This made navigating and having conversations a bit difficult. In general, I would give the win to Klaipeda, but... is there any point to job fairs in general? What's your experience? My experience so far. Most of the information is available online. The conversations are a bit awkward as you are not 100% sure what positions you can apply for, and the employer has zero info on you. The effectiveness is very low due to the nature of the format. At best you will have a surface-level conversation, leave your resume, and exchange contact info. Not sure if I am approaching the job fair format in the wrong way, or if the format is outdated, but I don't think I am going to go out of my way to visit more of them.

I love my job so much, it's not the salary because working for an NGO means I don't earn that much, but the impact we have on individuals who are most vulnerable, yet highly talented, skilled at different levels, who bring so much beauty to Ireland, we will continue to thrive as a country only when we open doors to the individuals who came to seek sanctuary in Ireland, one way it is to offer employment opportunities. My database is growing I have individuals who are ready to get into employment either have the Labor Market Access Permission (work permit) or their international protection status, to give a picture of a few here are experienced individuals 1. In Human Resource 2. Construction and Qualified Plumber 3. Woodwork and Agriculture. 4. Financial background 5. A new Mom looking for a remote job, as a qualified Financial Analyst. 6. Various IT qualifications. Are you a hiring manager and would like to have a look at some of the CVs pls connect with me. or Philanthropy looking to fund social impact projects, the Irish Refugee Council Employment Programme is worth investing in, we have a proven record of supporting individuals to integrate through Employment Here is my email: mavis@irishrefugeecouncil.ie we can discuss this further. #Socialimpact #hire #refugees

WHY DO WE ATTEND JOB FAIRS? The labor market is constantly evolving, sometimes adapting to new situations, sometimes moving in unpredictable directions, and creating new challenges for those who need competent resources. It would be unthinkable for PROBATUR GROUP to provide Solutions for Companies https://lnkd.in/ejP465nt and Solutions for private https://lnkd.in/d5WQshTx without having a periodical touch with the labor market, staying updated about new trends, and investing time in networking. Our attendance at Profesia Days in Zilina on 25th and 26th September was a must, also because we have the PROBATUR LOGISTICS site in town. This opportunity was seized by: CUSTOMERS – to discuss cooperations, review employees’ development activities, discuss updates of labor market situation and specific needs… PARTNERS – to discuss business opportunities, cooperations, projects… LEADS – to meet new potential employees, new potential partners, and potential customers. Such events allow easy and practical networking. The PLANT MANAGERS’ MANUAL – available at our stand provided an additional point of interest to PROBATUR GROUP activities.
