Be like the bee, they say! But alas, they never taught us how to be one! At least, no one did when I was growing up! In our early childhood, we learned about the hard work ants do to survive during winter – they collect and store food when the weather is favourable. Almost all of us took this lesson seriously and understood the importance of saving for our future through hard work or even by any other means. This is where the significance of being like a "bee" comes in, not just an ant. Why a bee? You know why, don’t you? Okay, let me remind you. Even though bees know (or they don’t, who cares) that the honey they produce with their persistent work is going to be taken away by humans, they never stop producing it. Do you know why? Let’s hear from a bee: "No matter how many times humans take away our honey, they can never take away our skill of producing it. And this is where we are unique." In our personal or professional lives, we often miss the inner strength and beauty of being the best creation in the world: humans. While taking the lesson of ‘hard work’ and ‘saving for the future,’ we often miss being kind and honest and take unfaithful paths, exploiting others for personal gains. Therefore, it is imperative to not only become a hardworking person but also to be compassionate and honest. The results will follow. Yesterday was World Bee Day!
