❄️ Winter is coming to an end! Let’s talk about “Wheel Safety.” Service Manager's Pro Tip: Secure wheel fasteners by regularly checking torque specs. Keep your fleet safe and steady on winter roads. 🔩 Proper Torque Specs: Use a calibrated torque wrench to ensure that wheel fasteners are tightened to the manufacturer’s specifications 🔩 Regular Checks: Perform re-torque checks after the first 50-100 miles post-installation and then check periodically thereafter. 🔩 Visual Inspection: During routine visual inspections, look for any signs of loose or damaged fasteners. Adding torque indicators allows for easier visual checking and should be looked at as part of the daily pre-trip inspection. Keep all documentation of all re-torques and torque checks. Retorques should be performed by an industry-qualified technician. 🔩 Consistent Torque: When checking torque, follow a star pattern to achieve consistent and even tightening across all fasteners. 🔩 Torque Specifications: Refer to the vehicle's specifications for the correct torque values based on the type of wheel and application.
