Viewing tip: BUY NOW on Netflix. Parallel to the organization of our conference about waste management and reduction, a new documentary was launched: Buy Now! This documentary explains how all the marketing tools we encounter in our lives, such as websites, ads, and social media, are designed in a manipulative way to make you buy more and more at an ever-increasing pace. Even more at moments like Christmas. The large companies behind these enormous sales do so without considering the environment. Enormous amounts of resources are wasted, pollution ends up in nature and our oceans, carbon emissions worsen climate change, and people in developing countries live amidst discarded goods. It's a documentary to watch before buying Christmas presents. Beware: only buy what you really need, and only buy items that are reusable and repairable.

🌱 Do you know what your environmental footprint is? Each of us leaves its "ecological footprint" - the amount of resources that we consume and the amount of waste that we create. But how does this affect the planet? And most importantly - what can we do to reduce it? 🔍 What is an environmental footprint? This is a measure of our impact on nature. It takes into account how much energy, water and materials we use, as well as how much garbage we produce. 💡 How to reduce it? 👉🏻 Saving resources. Use less water and electricity in everyday life. 👉🏻 Transition to environmental alternatives. Choose paper products instead of plastic. 👉🏻 More recycling. Sort garbage and support recycling programs. 👉🏻 Conscious consumption. Buy only what you really need and prefer products with a long period of use. 📊 Want to know your environmental footprint? There are many online calculators to help you do this. And most importantly - every small change in your habits can have a big positive impact on our planet! 🌍

🌟 Making it easier for your customers to “do the right thing” is a smart way for you to reduce your negative environmental impacts… ✅ Have you ever thought about reducing your company’s environmental footprint by making it easier for your customers to do the right thing? ♻️ It can be as simple as putting instructions on your packaging explaining the best way to recycle it. Most people don’t know the rules or constraints of recycling, so your simple guidance can go a long way. Whether you have a physical product or not, the message is the same: don’t overcomplicate things and try to boil the ocean. Start with what you have decision-making rights over. ➡️ What are the choices you’re already making? ➡️ Where are you already spending money? ➡️ How could you shift your perspective in even the smallest ways to initiate a ripple of change you can be proud to be part of?

"Waste isn't waste untill it's wasted". Wii I Am. What was a basic and ordinary activity till mid of 1900, has a refreshed sense and purpose today. The European Waste Framework Directive (2008/98/EC) introduced in 2010, aims to change our attitudes towards waste by few process steps: 1) Prevent the creation of waste. If not possible... 2) Prepare for a re-use. If not possible... 3) Recycle it. If not possible... 4) Recover other value (i.e. energy). If not possible... 5) Dispose it. I find 2) a smart way to deploy creativity, orginality, uniqueness... apparently valuable skillset in today's "social" world. Why not to leverage on it?.

What does it take to build a brand? (not a business)💡 Businesses pop up overnight, like ads you never asked for. We choose friends based on our values. We choose products based on our values. We choose our jobs based on our values. If a company doesn't have a strong set of values that they stick to, and use to make every decision in the business, how do you know if the company is right for you? One of our values is we keep it real - we do the right thing, we make things clear + simple. 👉 Our deodorant shell is made out of only 3 components. Instead of having an overly complex twisting internal system (which is only possible if made out of plastic) we looked at how our hands could be the pushing force. This enabled us to produce an entirely plastic-free product with one mission - tackling the amount of plastic entering our Oceans. 🌊 Here’s why it matters to us: - This is not our home to ruin 🐋 - It produces 50% of the oxygen we breathe. - It absorbs 25% of all carbon dioxide emissions. - It is our greatest ally against climate change. After building Planet Protector for over 7 years, I have one strongly held belief: Everyone wants their supply chain to be circular, but few want to put in the effort. When you transform your supply chain into a truly sustainable and circular part of your business: - You realise what it actually takes to become circular - You learn how to manage waste better - You train your entire staff on these practices - Is this easy? No. Is it worth it? 100%. In the end, all that matters is you're creating positive impact for the planet and the people that rely on you. — How would you improve the waste management in your business?
