You're considering changing careers, but it's just not realistic to go back and study for another 2, 3 or even 5 years. What if you invest this time and energy into a new path, only to find the same problems there? 🙅🏼 You don't NEED to! Let's look at one of our Next Step Vet clients. 👱🏼♀️ Millie. She was burnt-out to the point of NEEDING to leave the profession. She lack energy after work, and wasn't her full self inside OR outside of work. She HAD to change. So how did she, without re-qualifying? ⚠️ Awareness: She gained a better understanding of herself, leading to a more confident career direction. 🌐 Networking: She reached out to people withIN the vet industry in areas she was interested in AND thought would align well with HER strengths. 🎯 Action: She took control of her destiny by taking action, knowing that the alternative was being stuck in a job that was in HER words "taking from her". She now has more flexibility and autonomy at work. She's working to her strengths. And again in HER words: "has the energy to not only survive work, but consider what else she might want from her career". Even her partner has noticed a difference in the person he's coming home to. 🏆 The Result: You don't need to re-qualify to find a more meaningful career. 🤔 I often get candidates saying they are not sure what they want to do next in their career but they know they are not fulfilled or enjoying their current role...... It’s important when you are job seeking to try and establish the WHY behind you wanting to start a new role. Could be: 🔹 Lack of job security/risk of redundancy 🔸 Change in company expectation that you don't feel equipped to match 🔹 Lack of training or support to grow or support your ambition 🔸 Toxic environment/unresolved conflict with team/management 🔹 Feeling undervalued – emotionally/financially 🔸 You’re not challenged enough in your current role? 🤔 Even if you don’t know what role or business would suit you, it really helps us as your voice in the market, to understand the "WHY?". 📋 So, before you spend hours trawling adverts for jobs that sound attractive, I would highly recommend you take time out to make a PROS and CONS list about what you really love about your role/career and what needs to change and the WHY. This will help us to guide you towards a brighter future… Do get in touch with our team if you want friendly career advice to find your dream role in the Pet and Animal Health markets. This was a great interview by Mayor of the Far North Moko Tepania. He made the issue relevant. He spoke directly to his audience. He stayed committed to the important message he needed to get across. He used language that’s conversational. He spoke with passion and conviction. I really enjoyed the description of the Far North as 5 hours long and 2 hours wide. That’s big! I’m not saying you should try to copy Mayor Moko, you’ve got to be you in any interview but think about those elements that work when you’re preparing. #interviewtips
