Announcing My Retirement Hello Everyone, Today, I am thrilled to share that I'm retiring from full-time work, at least for now. It's been an incredible journey through various roles and MSPs. From those that I've run, those that I worked for, and those I've consulted with, its been an experience I wouldn't trade for anything. That said, it feels like the right time to step back and reflect on where I am today, while focusing on where my time can best be spent moving forward. Reflection is important, and it makes it feel like such a long and short time. Altitude Technologies/Avitus Technology Services: My career in the industry began here, as a greenhorn who had no idea what an MSP even was, just wanting to get into tech. I experienced every facet of growing an MSP, from engineering, sales, account management, operations, finance, before eventually taking over in 2019. Still to this today, I'm both humbled and proud of what we accomplished together with that team, becoming a true a Best-In-Class MSP, excelling in Service, CSAT, Client Retention, Growth, and EBITDA by all benchmarks. Cosentus/Cosentus Technology Services: Post-acquisition, I grew through the exposure of new ideas, challenging my skillset in a global operation as I eventually became the SVP of Technology. machineLOGIC/Sourcepass: Here I found a culture that challenged the status quo within the industry, something I've always aligned with. After we joined the Sourcepass team, I was consistently challenged and enjoyed the experience of working for one of the fastest growing MSP's in the industry. Pax8/Tech Degenerates/MSP Community: I would be doing a disservice if I didn't do a shout-out here for Pax8, who I've always held in high regard as a partner and specifically a leadership team that aimed to do things the right way, and had a tremendous focus on giving back to the industry. As I was growing into my first experience of running an MSP, Pax8 provided me an outlet to not only reflect on my business through many conversations and PACs, but also provide avenues to share my knowledge with the industry and other business owners. I consider this one of the primary catalysts for myself to discovering the joy I get when I invest back into the community and industry. Likewise, this is also why I've had a strong pull for the Tech Degenerates and their mission. I've been fortunate to meet wonderful colleagues, mentors, peers, and clients who've enriched my professional life, something I don't take for granted. Looking Forward: Retirement for me is not an end but a transition: Consulting: I aim to share my expertise in various capacities. Explore: More time for my passion for travel, focusing on international experiences. Connect: Keeping this network active, offering insights or assistance when needed. Thank you all for being part of my journey. Here's to new adventures, continued learning, and the freedom of new opportunities. Gratefully, Cole Halpin

🌟 Embracing New Beginnings: Turning Challenges into Opportunities 🌟 Life has a way of throwing us curveballs—whether it’s navigating layoffs, transitioning to new job roles, or taking a leap into entrepreneurship. While these moments can initially feel daunting or even tragic, they often serve as the perfect catalyst for transformation and growth. As someone who has experienced the ups and downs of career transitions, I’ve learned that starting over is not just an end; it's a new beginning. It’s a chance to reflect on what truly drives us and to reignite our passions. Here are a few thoughts on how to channel this energy into a vibrant new chapter: 1. Learn from Every Experience Whether you've faced a layoff or decided to pivot in your career, use those lessons as stepping stones. Each challenge adds to your resilience and becomes part of your unique story. 2. Cultivate Positivity and Optimism It's easy to feel discouraged, but remember: every setback can be a setup for a comeback. Embrace optimism and approach your next chapter with an open heart and mind. 3. Ignite Your Passion Let your experiences fuel your desire to pursue what you love. Dive into projects that excite you, network with like-minded individuals, and don’t shy away from exploring new fields. 4. Financial Guidance Transitioning from a W2 position means adjusting to new financial realities. Here are some tips to consider: - Create a Budget: With the loss of employee benefits, it’s crucial to redefine your budget. Track your expenses and prioritize essential needs. - Build an Emergency Fund: Aim for three to six months of living expenses to provide stability during this transition. - Explore Health Insurance Options: Look into COBRA, marketplace plans, or alternatives to find suitable coverage that won’t break the bank. - Retirement Savings: Consider transferring to another Retirement option to continue to grow all while avoiding penalty and taxes. 5. Turn Lemons into Lemonade It’s often said that life gives you lemons, but it’s up to you to make lemonade! Use this time to redefine your goals, embrace new challenges, and pursue work that truly fulfills you. Remember, sometimes a seemingly tragic situation is a divine redirection toward greater opportunities. Let your past experiences light the way for a future filled with passion, creativity, and new adventures. I’d love to be a partner with you along your financial journey. Here’s to new beginnings and the incredible journeys that await us all! ✨ #CareerTransition #Entrepreneurship #Positivity #FinancialGuidance #NewBeginnings #Resilience #GrowthMindset

🎺 Sometimes, a message just makes you want to cry from sheer pride (and happy exhaustion). Writing articles in a regulated industry is challenging, but 👏 working with an extraordinary team 👏 basing article topics and ideation on data from what customers want to know (rather than what we want them to know) 👏 and putting in the time to research is always worth it. Always. Want to explore early retirement? Check it out: https://lnkd.in/eQmDvU8B

Previously, I shared about Gen Z being the "Roadmap Generation" as we looked into their methodical focus on long-term success. I had the privilege of speaking more about this forward-thinking generation with Forbes contributor Bryan Robinson, Ph.D revealing 6 of their career habits. Here are a few: - Discernment: Gen Z professionals seek clearly defined career paths to visualize and map their journey effectively. - Scaffolding: They evaluate job opportunities based on the benefits and resources available to support their professional growth. - Long-term mindset: Gen Z employees have a high participation rate in retirement plans like 401(k)s and show a strong focus on long-term financial security. Gen Z is not just thinking about immediate benefits, but also adopting a systematic approach to their career growth. They save for retirement earlier, leverage 401(k) matches, and prioritize job offers with strong benefits. Read the article to learn all 6 Career Habits That Describe ‘The Roadmap Generation’ Of 2024 and share in the comments how you are engaging Gen Z to create long-term success. #CareerHabits #WorkplaceSuccess
