A Day in the Life of a Site Engineer Morning Routine and Planning When I was working as a site engineer, every day began with meticulous planning. The groundwork for each day was laid the previous evening, ensuring that all resources and materials were accounted for. I arrived at the site 30 minutes early, having already visualized the day’s tasks during my commute. This commute time was critical for solidifying my strategy for the day, turning over plans and potential challenges in my mind. It was during these quiet moments that I could foresee potential issues and plan contingencies, ensuring that the day would run as smoothly as possible. I learned the importance of planning, arriving early, and visualizing the day's work from a few key experiences. On occasions when I didn’t follow this routine, the entire day's schedule could be ruined. This led to delays and increased labor costs Moreover, any delay in progress sends a negative message to customers. It causes them to doubt our ability to manage the project efficiently and meet deadlines.
