December 3rd is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, an annual event that began in 1992. The United Nations (UN) recognises this day to promote awareness and support for the "dignity, rights, and well-being of persons with disabilities". It covers a variety of issues that are important to people with disabilities, including political, social, economic, and cultural issues. Each year, the day focuses on a different issue. This year aims to focus on "Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future."

Happy International Day of Persons with Disabilities!  If you're wondering how you can best mark this important day, here are the 2024 IDPD calls to action that we can all commit to today and every day: -Promoting the leadership of persons with disabilities in all areas of life. -Ensuring the inclusion of persons with disabilities in all aspects of society.   -Increasing the participation of persons with disabilities in decision-making processes.   -Raising awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities. -Celebrating the achievements of persons with disabilities.

Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This preliminary report provides an in-depth look at the current status of inclusion, the challenges faced, and the opportunities available for enhancing the social and economic participation of persons with disabilities.
