At Jonathan's Path, we believe that appropriate mental health assistance is essential for the well-being of foster youth. Studies show that in comparison to veterans, former foster youth are twice as likely to suffer from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), that’s why early intervention is vital to helping our youth get diagnosed, receive the attention they need, overcome trauma and ultimately live better lives in the long run. You can play a crucial role in supporting our programs by making a $50 recurring monthly donation or becoming one of our therapists. https://zurl.co/JdwV #nonprofit #adoption #volunteer #fostercareawareness

I am going to shave my dreadlocks in December this year to raise money for the Mental Health Foundation in Aotearoa, and to bring some awareness to issues relative to psychologists. As a soon-to-be Clinical Psychologist, this cause is close to my heart. There is a shortage of psychologists in mental health services in Aotearoa (me included, recently moved to Australia seeking better pay). Estimates of burnout rates for psychologists in New Zealand vary between 20% and 67% of psychologists (Morse et al., 2012; O’Connor et al., 2018) due to high demand leading to longer waitlists and higher severity of cases (Blayney & Kercher 2023). I am raising some money for the Mental Health Foundation to contribute towards creating and distributing mental health resources, promoting suicide prevention resources, as well as running nationwide campaigns. Maybe taking a tiny bit of the pressure off services? Worth a shot anyway. See the link below if you would like to donate to such a great cause :) Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand

There has been a 50% increase in children’s mental health problems over the past three years, and a decline in children’s happiness. This isn’t okay and is why we have a range of programmes which contribute to brighter futures for young people. In fact, in 22/23 78% of young people reported an increase in their wellbeing after a Brathay residential. This #WorldMentalHealthDay we invite you to set up a regular donation (no matter how big or small) to Brathay Trust to allow us to continue our important work improving lives for young people. https://lnkd.in/eKst2enF

WEAR IT GREEN DAY!! 💚💚 Today is Wear It Green Day in the UK - bringing together the UK to focus on getting good mental health. Each May, millions of people from every part of society take part. We've invited all Mölnlycke Health Care UK employees to throw on their GREEN clothes and show their support for Mental Health Awareness. We're also using it as an opportunity to raise funds for the Mental Health Foundation charity, who have made it their mission to build a society with good mental health where everyone can thrive. If you think that everyone deserves to have great mental health and want to show your support, why not grab something GREEN, snap a photo and post your reply on this conversation thread with #mentalhealthawareness #wearitgreen

Why the yellow socks you might ask? Today is World Mental Health Day, and I have decided to wear yellow to bring awareness to mental health. It has become a very close subject over the last few months after a loved one became very unwell. This journey has made me realize the importance of mental health support, a topic we often overlook. I have been impressed by the charities and the NHS support provided, but we need to prioritize mental health just as we do physical health. Donating to a mental health charity today can make a significant impact on someone's journey to recovery. If you are considering donating or need information on mental health charities, please reach out to me. Your contribution would mean a lot to me and to those in need of help. Let's raise awareness and support each other on this Mental Health Day. The objective is to shed light on mental health issues globally and unite efforts to promote mental well-being. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthAwareness

TW: Film contains mention of sui*cide. According to a study from the National Institute of Health, people with physical disabilities are three times more likely to experience depression. “3 Seconds” sheds light on the mental health journey of Marc “Doobz” Dubois, who was born with CP, and how bodybuilding helped him to reframe his relationship with disability. ➡️P.S. You can support CPARF by watching the film, donating, or turning your passions into action by starting a 3forCP fundraiser. https://ow.ly/B25A50RU6mJ Image description in alt text. #ResearchforCP #MentalHealthAwareness #CerebralPalsy #3SecondsFilm

We're not always the noisiest of charities on social media - we're much better at listening. People often find us when they need us. We're a small team. We have to prioritise our time. We actively fundraise to ensure our specialist services are free at the point of access for anyone who needs us in the community. Our main job, our mission as a charity here in Highland is to ensure that young people who need our service, are being seen and supported. We've been open for 6 months now and I wanted to let you know how we're doing. We've received 64 referrals - young people aged 14 - 21 years experiencing mental health difficulties. We've offered over 300 psychotherapeutic appointments so far. Young people tell us how complex their lives are; how affected they are by suicide, violence, trauma, events beyond their control, while they try and navigate growing up. There's a lot more to do. If you'd like to help, please get in touch: highlands@brentcentre.org.uk We welcome volunteers, fundraisers, creative ideas, time and community support. Our service belongs to our community -use us, support us, tell us what you need. How to help with just one minute of your time: #Buy a Highlands Community Lottery ticket to support us: https://lnkd.in/eQKtnk_E #Let a young person know we are here and how to get in touch. #Repost and share.
