In order for you to have access to the best care possible for your furry friends, the veterinary care industry needs to start putting people-first. According to Brian Lyman, COO of MOVES, too many specialists are on the brink of burnout from the overwhelming demand for services. A lack of access to critical care can put many of many of our four-legged family members at risk. Listen here: https://hubs.ly/Q02Ly9Qf0

...The clock is ticking ⌚ and I don't know about you, but I'm EXCITED!! LVS is such a massive opportunity to connect, learn, and be inspired by our incredible community. But for introverts like me, the scale and pace of these events can sometimes feel A LOT! Anyone else relate..? 🖐 So, here are my top three tips for any other veterinary professional introverts (and anyone who needs a bit of grounding) to thrive in the hustle and bustle of giant conferences: 👩💻 Plan Your Priorities Instead of packing in every session, pick a few that truly resonate. That way, you’ll have energy for meaningful conversations and insights without feeling overstretched. ☕Recharge Strategically Plan breaks between sessions and meetings to recharge. Finding a quiet corner or even stepping outside for a few minutes (I'll be at Costa!) can do wonders to stay focused and refreshed. I've also planned a rest day on Saturday to recharge 😂 💗 Set Small Networking Goals Rather than pushing to meet ALL the people, aim for a few quality conversations. We thrive on genuine exchanges that strengthen deeper, lasting connections. I'm booking meetings now for Thursday and Friday to have a cuppa and a catch-up at the Costa outside the exhibition hall, and I'll definitely be headed to one (or several!) of the VetYogi sessions on Friday too🧘♀️ Looking forward to seeing your gorgeous faces, meeting new ones, and soaking in the fabulous LVS energy! #networking #LVS #quietstrength #community #veterinary #introvert #toptips #happyhour #veterinarynurse #marketing

September marks Animal Pain Awareness Month, a crucial time for all animal health professionals to reflect on the importance of pain management in veterinary care. As a Veterinary Palliative Care team, we are committed to ensuring that every patient’s pain is recognised and managed with the highest level of care and compassion. Often, one of our biggest challenges is that animals cannot verbally communicate their pain, however as Vets we learn to listen in many other ways. Signs of discomfort can be read by observing demeanor, posture, body language, behaviour and through performing a comprehensive clinical exam. At Sunset Vets our consultations focus heavily on helping families to understand their pet’s pain, before we explore treatment options, and discuss key components of care such as Caregiver Burden that may affect the choices we make together with families. This month, we urge everyone to take a closer look at their four-legged family members and ensure they are comfortable. If you need any guidance, please reach out to your local Vet or get in touch with our team. Here’s a less pets in pain, right through the month of September and beyond. 🐾 #AnimalPainAwarenessMonth #VeterinaryCare #PainManagement #VeterinaryPalliativeCare

Did you know? 🐶 1 in 3 family pets will get lost at some point in their lives. 🐕 Microchipped dogs are more than twice as likely to be returned to their owners. 🐱 Microchipped cats are more than 20 times as likely to be returned to their owners. 📈 But only about 6 out of 10 microchips are registered! That’s why the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) and American Animal Hospital Association, with support from HomeAgain, created Check the Chip Day. It’s a crucial reminder to ensure pets are microchipped and that their registration info is up-to-date. As veterinary professionals, let’s do our part! Encourage your clients to: 🏷️ Get their pets microchipped. ✍️ Regularly update their microchip registration information. As a proud partner of Merck Animal Health, we’re dedicated to keeping pets safe and sound. Let’s spread the word and make sure our patients are protected! 🫶 #CheckTheChipDay #PetSafety #MicrochipYourPet #CheckTheChip #PetProtection #MicrochipCheck
