No one is going to care about it as much as you do.” This thought has been on my mind a lot lately, serving as a reminder—both to myself and to all of you—to make your voice heard. Despite being an introvert and finding it against my natural inclination, I push myself every day to step out there more. It’s a challenge, but one that’s truly necessary. But one of my favourite things is how they mix fun, honesty, candour, skill and professionalism. They are not afraid to challenge the status quo, and face into the difficult things - in service of their overring objective... ✅ To help retailers become more successful at what they do Storeforce have such a rich group of amazing speciality retailers who they support. Having worked in and with retailers myself for over 2 decades, it makes me feel good that: 1) This team will take these ideas and make them work to make their work AND personal lives better 💥 BUT ALSO 2) This will also have a direct benefit to their clients 💥💥💥💥💥 Yesterday I asked them to go on a walk, and photograph something that represented teamwork. 💎Closer to Customer: My First Time on the Shop Floor 💎 Last week, I had the privilege of stepping away from data engineering and joining my colleagues at Evesham Simply Food as part of Marks and Spencer's Closer to Customer initiative, spending two days working on the shop floor for the very first time. What a great experience! Here are my refelctions: 🗣️ Conversations with Colleagues and Customers: I got the chance to speak directly with both our team members and customers. Hearing their perspectives firsthand was invaluable and gave me a much deeper understanding of their daily experiences. 💡 Operational Insights: Working alongside colleagues, keeping the shelves full (and putting together my first Christmas display 💪) gave me fresh ideas on how we can continue improving and supporting our team more effectively. 🎉 Special Shoutout to Amanda, Mike, and the Team at Evesham Simply Food: You all made my time on the floor incredibly insightful and rewarding. Your dedication, teamwork, and expertise were inspiring, and I am grateful for the warm welcome! 🎄 Looking Forward to the Christmas Peak (yes really!): I am excited to be joining the team again during the Christmas peak, where I know their hard work will shine even brighter. Taking part in Closer to Customer has reminded me how important it is to stay connected to every part of the business. Wow. What a week. 😅… First Optoro joins the list of amazing companies on Fast Company’s Most Innovative companies. Talk about being proud of my company! Meanwhile, I’m at #shoptalk with thousands of other #retail professionals talking about innovation, returns, customer expectations and more! A few takeaways: 1. Face to face conversations are so fun. Shoptalk owns the market when it comes to show management. 2. Everyone ❤️s returns. (Just kidding) returns are still threatening everyone’s profitability and while free returns are great, a holistic returns strategy is critical. 3. Returns continue to lack central ownership. I talked with store ops folks, merchandisers, Omni leaders, finance, and supply chain leaders — and they ALL “feel the burn of returns™️”. More brands and #3PLs are starting to take returns more seriously. (A big 3PL is now creating an entirely new division for returns) 4. Retail and supply chain is a smallll world. Be kind. Do the right thing. If you have an awkward situation, address it and move forward. Repair always wins. ❤️🩹 5. My colleague, Gene, has the most random, best food spots to try in Las Vegas. Thanks for the recs and ordering :) 6. Sneakers at a trade show is a much better idea than heels. #justdoit Grateful for another week doing what I love.

Thank you for an incredible 3 years Hover! As I enter my last couple of weeks at Hover I’ve been reflecting on what the last 3 years has meant to me; the accomplishments, the failures, and growth. Whenever I am exploring a new opportunity I always ask a simple question “If I accept this role and we look back a year from now, what will we have accomplished?” At Hover that answer included a few main bullets: 1. You and the team built new skills and grew in your professional development 2. You and the team implemented a customer success platform 3. You identified and took action on other gaps the business doesn't even see today due to blindspots 4. “I can't believe we operated that way when you started. Holy S&%T can you believe how far we've come?” 5. You created a vision for Customer Success at Hover Looking back on the 3 years at Hover we hit all of those bullets and more! 1. 15+ folks on teams I led have grown through promotions or other roles in the business 2. We implemented Catalyst which has completely changed how we identify and take action with customers at scale, how we hold the team accountable to hitting tangible results, and how the team’s value/impact rolls up to large company initiatives. 3. We created a customer onboarding team that drives action in the critical first few months of a customers’ journey. We have been able to drive down implementation times of our technical products from 120+ days to under 60 days. 4. Our operational rigor is far stronger than it was when I started. But, not only across the initial roles I was responsible for but the 4 teams that I ultimately ended up leading. 5. Customer Success has a bright future at Hover and we have proven how to operate this role at scale. I am excited to see it continue to grow into 2025 and beyond. The people at Hover is what makes it a truly special place to work, unfortunately there are far too many amazing people at Hover to list by name (this post would be a 2000 word essay). I did want to take a moment and acknowledge Justin Hancher - Thank you for bringing me into the business and believing in me. You have been an incredible leader, mentor, and friend in my time at Hover. I am very excited for my next adventure (stay tuned for that announcement soon) but will never forget my time at Hover!

"It's possible to be a speaker" And guess what, it's really happening for me! I have started to speak at corporate events and team offsites. And I just had the coolest gig so far speaking at the Ops team offsite of ShopBack. It's cool to me because: 𝟭 - 𝗪𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 Shopback's VP of Ops Rahm R invited me to speak at his offsite even though we have never met before. He just came across my profile and YT channel and took a leap of faith in me. 𝟮 - 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 Despite only knowing Shopback's business in general, I realized his team priorities are universal; such as excelling in uncertainty, delighting customers, resilience and career fulfillment. And I could relate my past experiences to his team. So if you are wondering if you can start something in a new industry / domain / company, I want to assure you you can. We just have to get out there and meet people like Rahm and his team to have faith in you. Go get yours. (And if you want someone to motivate your team with authenticity, self-depreciating humor without the usual corporate ra-ra in 2025, you know where to find me)
