Have you heard the news?   Last week was intense. We could barely contain our excitement that our guy Christiaan Coetzee had been nominated as a finalist in The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants Awards.   Not just your standard pat on the back kind of thing, these are the Oscars of the African accounting world. It was quite a moment. The Audit Toolbar, on the shortlist, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with giants like Amazon, BDO and EY. They were terrified.   And guess what? He only went and did it. Christiaan took home the prize and was crowned the overall winner. - champion of champions. Wow! You’ve given us everything. It’s a win for every practice, partner, and practitioner, who’s believed in our vision.   And it’s a big win for auditors everywhere. A win that says, “The industry isn’t stuck in the last century.” It’s evolving and guess what? We’re leading the charge.   We couldn’t be prouder. Christiaan, this one’s for you. Today kicks off our internal audit series, as we share a few key content changes from the previous to the latest Global IA Standards. 📝 DEFINE: Define Essential Conditions “Essential conditions” is a new concept in the latest Standards, introduced in Domain III: Governing the IA Function. Standards 6.1-8.4 in Domain III define and outline the roles, or “essential conditions”, the Board and Senior Management must uphold for the Internal Audit function to fulfill its purpose effectively. By defining roles more clearly, high-level leadership with finite time—the Chief Audit Executive, Board, and Senior Management—can better align for success.
