Napoleon Hill's Thought for the Day: A little job well done is the first step toward a bigger one. Success is more of a process than an event. Great success is achieved after a long string of small successes. Most of us earn our stripes one step at a time, and we work our way up through the ranks. When we begin our careers, we are given assignments that are commensurate with our skill and experience. As we prove our worth to the organization, we are gradually entrusted with more responsibility for one position, do so with an eye toward the next one. Do your absolute best every day in your job, but always plan for the future. View each day as an opportunity to learn something that will make you more valuable to the company or organization so that when the tie arrives for promotions, your name will be the first one that comes to the boss’s mind.

Earlier this month I had a chat with Georgina Njogu of Citizen Digital. The idea behind the interview was to discuss personal life & career. We touched on many topics including but not limited to the motivation, the set backs, the comebacks and the drive. 1.My biggest support base is my family. My brothers made sure from a young age that I never had a victim mentality, they taught me by looking at their values, how they tackle challenges that you can't be a victim. They despite all odds were the best mirror I could have, being strict with me and making sure I became a younger version of them. 2.Social capital- I have been a beneficiary of social capital people who can and have mentioned my name in places I didn't even immagine exists,to people who have stretched hands to pull me back when I am out ,people who receive my calls when I am out and bring back the belief people like Lillian Ngala ,Azmina Mulji Leadership Empowerment Coach and HR Consultant and many othersif I was to do this list we would be 89 pages. 3.Taking Calculated risk,I have always believed that you either take the risk or loose the chance. 4.At the apex of it there are well planned ,well calculated goals, what and where I wanted to be . 5.I am a victim of my own ambitions andost of the time the very ambitious thoughts have led me a stray,Sometimes it has consumed the very drive I had . 6. Be Cognizant of the fact that nobody owes you anything not even your mentors, appreciate the people who take their time to guide and listen to you. They don't need to do it but when they do neveret them down. 7.Character is the S to the word success .Have integrity,be consistent, respect authority and love what you do when you still doing it.
I did another one! https://lnkd.in/gngCGrCr Kennedy Osano 's journey is one of perseverance and resilience, having become a father in Form 3 and navigating two failed engagements while climbing the ranks from a bank Cleaner & Messenger to his current role as country director at GTXN. Despite facing personal challenges, Kennedy's unwavering dedication to his career and commitment to providing a better future for his daughter shines through. His story is a testament to the power of hard work, determination, and never giving up in the face of adversity, serving as an inspiration to all who encounter setbacks yet continue to strive for success. Kennedy Osano, thank you for sharing your story with me.

Is playing it safe holding you back from your true potential? I've often found that our greatest achievements lie just beyond our comfort zone. You're onto something powerful here - the idea that real growth comes from pushing boundaries. Think about it: every major breakthrough in history came from someone willing to take a risk. I'm reminded of the Wright brothers or Marie Curie. They didn't just step out of their comfort zone; they leaped. But here's the thing: it's not about recklessness. It's calculated risk-taking. You weigh the potential gains against the possibility of failure. And even if you do fail? Well, that's where the real learning happens. I've learned more from my failures than my successes. Each setback is a lesson, a stepping stone to something greater. It's about reframing failure as feedback, not an endpoint. #RiskTaking #PersonalGrowth #InnovationMindset #EmbraceFailure

Hello May! 🌟💫🫰🏻 You're my favorite month for many reasons, not least because you bring both Star Wars Day and my birthday! April emphasized the long-awaited arrival of spring, clarifying my mind and strengthening my spirit. Though I have nothing remarkable to report, it's worth noting that April 2024 reinforced a crucial lesson: our progress and success are deeply tied to the quality of people around us, and I'm fortunate to be surrounded by such remarkable individuals 😍 Acting with integrity, even when it's daunting, is crucial; it positively affects our character. Similarly, distancing ourselves from manipulative people is vital, and it's equally important to acknowledge that it's okay to feel stressed in their presence. Sometimes, moving forward means giving up things we care about, which, though tough, is often the right decision. Outspokenness and professionalism should always lead the way. Tough experiences, though challenging, build our resilience and strength. It's better to make mistakes and learn from them than to waste energy fretting over actions not taken. Aside from these reflections, my routine has remained much the same as in previous months. May the Force be with us always! 🌟💫☄️

Thought for Today - The reward of a thing well done is to have done it. Ralph Waldo Emerson Isn't it satisfying to bask in the sense of accomplishment that comes from a job well done? It's like savoring the sweet fruit of your labor, knowing that your efforts have paid off and left a mark on the world. So, why chase after external rewards or validation when the true satisfaction lies in the pride of knowing you've given your best? Embrace the joy that comes from simply doing what you love and doing it well, knowing that each small victory is a testament to your dedication and hard work. Celebrate your achievements, no matter how big or small, and take pride in knowing that the greatest reward of all is the satisfaction of a job well done. https://lnkd.in/ePratR9F

Your work is what you do, not who you are. ✨ Instead of saying, “I am a coach or I am a Salesforce Consultant,” I get to say “I support my clients as a coach/consultant.” There’s a significant difference in the details. Being able to separate my identity as my work was one of the biggest challenges for me years ago, but so worth it to have my mental health and harmony as my priority now over my job, which allows me to show up even better these days. 💕 #mindset #success #boundaries #empowerment
Our professional successes and failures don’t define us. There’s so much more that makes us who we are. 💜

When identity is tied to a specific job or profession and that changes, which is so much more common now, it can feel like our identity has been stripped away and the uncertainty that comes with that can feel so heavy. After being in the same field for 17 years and then changing careers three times in the last 3 years, I've learned (the hard way, of course) that no job, title, or organization, is what creates my worth and value - that's an inside job. From this point forward, that is, and will be, the bedrock from which I live. My goal is to continuously evolve as I move through this life, and that should be no different in the professional arena. #change #identity #evolution #keepitmoving

I don’t often talk about my passions out of work on here but for those who don’t know, I love F1 and Lewis Hamilton is my inspirational driver of choice. In the run up to his final race weekend, Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team have made one of the loveliest jestures I’ve seen yet of an employer saying farewell to a much respected employee ❤️ For me it captures some of the most important elements of Lewis’ leadership style: 1️⃣ Lead by example 2️⃣ Use your moments of success to inspire others 3️⃣ Build self-belief in those who need it most The biggest privilege of leadership is being able to look back, see the legacy you’ve created and understand you’ve helped others to achieve their dreams too! What will your legacy be? #imagine #inspirationalleaders #appreciation #legacy #thankyoulewis #legend
Imagine.... Thank You, Lewis.
