Last week, our Chair, Orlando Fraser, visited Discover Children's Story Centre, where they discussed the importance of stories for mental development in children, and the support the charity offers displaced families and those living locally. He also visited Child Bereavement UK, where he heard about how the charity tailors their support to beneficiaries, working with young people of all ages, different faiths and customs. As well as discussing some of the challenges of the financial environment.

🌟 Read about my work with the Office for Students! I wrote a blog for the OfS about my experience of being a member of their Disability in Higher Education Advisory Panel. One of the things I love the most about working in policy is having the opportunity to help others see the bigger picture, and the panel is doing just that. The HE sector has a long way to go to be truly inclusive for disabled students - as a panel we have been looking at how the necessary improvements might be achieved. #UnlockingEducation #InclusiveEducation
To coincide with the next Disability in Higher Education Panel meeting, panel member Lucy Merritt has written a blog reflecting on the discussions of the panel so far, and on her role as Education Policy Manager at Thomas Pocklington Trust, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of blind or partially sighted people.
