Do you have a no D!£%head policy? Turns out it’s good for business. Yesterday I had the privilege of listening to the Chair of the Welsh Rugby Union Richard Collier-Keywood talk eloquently about the important Welsh cultural asset he is now responsible for and the need for it to serve all stakeholders i.e. benefit society beyond the bottom line. In business it’s known as CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) which emerged as a concept in the 1960s. Back then it was seen as an altruistic means of doing more with a business than just making money, but it was assumed it would involve sacrificing profit to achieve it. The growing evidence shows this is not the case. Being environmentally responsible, inclusive and serving of all stakeholders (customers, employees, investors, the environment and wider society) builds a strong brand, customer engagement, profit and also investment opportunities. The All Blacks have an NDH (No D!£%head) policy. They clean their own dressing rooms, carry their own bags and essentially show humility, accountability and a recognition of all the stakeholders in their organisation. For me, corporate social responsibility boils down to common sense, respect and humility. It’s good to see those leading our national game going forward aspire to the same ethos. And at a time of such high attrition in business in general, would it not be best to have a smart business model that ensures that everyone in the eco system is incentivised to see the venture succeed?

Should CEOs get into the trenches with their teams, or is their time better spent on high-level strategy? We’ve all heard the stories—CEOs like Elon Musk working on the factory floor to understand operations and lead by example. But let’s be honest: How often is this more storytelling than substance? Not for Adam Shampaine , CEO of HomeFix. Despite leading a large, complex organization, Adam prioritizes time with his canvassing team. Why? Because at its core, HomeFix is a canvass-based company, and its canvassers are the driving force behind its success. So, is there anything more important Adam could be doing as CEO than investing time where it matters most? Personally, I lean towards rolling up my sleeves and getting involved. There’s no “CEO work” versus “employee work”—there’s just the most important work. At HomeFix canvassing is essential to the company’s growth and operations, and Adam gets that. By focusing his efforts there, he’s setting an example for every leader in the home improvement industry. Well done, Adam. That’s why you’re a legend in this space. and just in case you’re wondering, yes he did get 4 LEADS!!

Remember to register for the final town hall event in Adelaide at 6:30pm Wednesday 12th June. It could not be explained any better than how Vanessa C. has outlined in this short video. Parents and students of faith aligned schools seek a positive right of choice for education to be aligned to their beliefs, with clear protections for schools to employ and educate in line with religious and moral values. What is required? Legislative clarity is required to allow for faith institutions (be it schools or places of worship) the protection to teach and practice their religious and moral beliefs. To remove any doubt, its parents and students that make the choice of faith aligned schooling, and the choice is to be taught by a system that supports and is consistent with their faith and choice in morals and religious practice. Be it belief about spiritual matters or beliefs around identity. I sincerely pray that the existing government and future governments uphold existing religious freedom and expression. Unfortunately proposed changes will erode this religious freedom and diversity of choice for Parents and Students. A positive event to attend and support. https://lnkd.in/gJ6y3ZwP
