This week of gratitude, we at CFW Careers are reflecting on what truly drives and inspires us. We’re thankful for the individuals who uphold and embody values like fairness, kindness, and integrity—values that anchor us in challenging times and motivate us to move forward with purpose. We’re also deeply grateful for the power of community. Over our 50+ years in business, we’ve had the privilege of building an incredible network of people we admire—colleagues, clients, and partners who provide support, spark action, and remind us of the strength we gain when we work together. Wishing you a Thanksgiving filled with gratitude, connection, and inspiration. #Thanksgiving #Gratitude #Community #LivingOurValues Cynnie King | Rachel Fagnant-Fassler | Maria Carolina Simon | Diany Levy

'Tis the season of Receiving. I work with Executive Leaders, and just about all of them will openly declare how much they love to give and to be of service, but often struggle to receive. Perhaps because at an early age, they were conditioned to believe, “It’s better to give than to receive.” But here’s a thought: What if receiving is just as important? Receiving comes with vulnerability, consciously allowing the cycle of generosity to be completed. Last year, Milton stopped when he said “Courtney, can you imagine a world where there are only givers and no receivers?” 🤯. Receiving is about honoring connection. When we don’t fully embrace it we limit the depth of connections we can build. Embracing receivership also sends a signal that you are open to abundance, and willing to receive whatever the universe has to offer you. May it be as simple as a compliment, a silly sweater, or some homemade jam. Do it without judgment. Do it with discernment and intention. So, as we enter this season of giving, I invite you to join me in my contemplation on receivership and ponder: “What do you need to let go of to intentionally make space to receive?”

After a few months of exploring possibilities for my next career adventure, I've discovered the answer to the question of what I'm looking for - what will fill my cup in my next role. The answer: joy. I am a mission-driven leader. There are so many worthy nonprofits and corporate brands out there that fit my requirement of making the world a better place. But what will make the "right" opportunity stand out to me? What will motivate me to show up and give 110% every day, and leave me fulfilled at the end of a hard week? Joy. A mission and purpose and people who are filled with joy when they come to work, when they face tough challenges, and when they look at the output and outcomes of their efforts. Not familiar with this? Take a look at this post from All Access Life and you'll see what I mean. The world can be an ugly place, and when you look around to notice all the brokenness that needs our help it can get lonely and hopeless pretty fast. To date, I've had the good fortune to find organizations that either led with joy or allowed me to discover and build and amplify that joy internally and with their audiences. There's nothing like it. So employers, if you find joy in your work, in your mission and purpose, I want to talk to you. If you're looking to scale and need help building a team that believes in your purpose and shows up fully committed for that purpose, let me know. We just might make great partners.
Bradley Heaven and I were thrilled to welcome the Mackay Senior AugCom class to our office for a fantastic visit! The students and staff joined us to learn more about our nonprofit All Access Life and explore our adaptive products. Laughter and smiles filled the room, making for a truly memorable day. We're grateful to have shared this experience with such an amazing group, and we look forward to future opportunities to connect. Thank you for joining us!

"Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough." - Oprah Winfrey In the journey of property investing, it's essential to cultivate an attitude of gratitude. Instead of focusing on the challenges and setbacks, take a moment to appreciate what you have achieved so far. Celebrate each step forward, no matter how small it may seem. When you embrace gratitude, you attract positive energy and open yourself up to even greater opportunities. So, let's start this Thankfulness Thursday by counting our blessings and being grateful for the progress we have made. Your feedback is valuable to me. I would love to know what content resonates with you and what aspect of property investing you would like to learn more about. Please feel free to share your thoughts and suggestions. Together, we can create a supportive and empowering community of property investors.

I’m a pretty devout Mark Manson reader, and his weekly newsletter is one of my favourites. The format is simple—five minutes a week that might change your life. One of this week’s prompts, though, really got under my skin: "𝘽𝙚 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙜𝙜𝙡𝙚𝙨, 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙩𝙝 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜." My immediate reaction? Annoyance. Having worked in #socialimpact for decades, my first thought was, 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘺, 𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘥 𝘸𝘢𝘳, 𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘤 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴, 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘺 𝘣𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘨𝘨𝘭𝘦𝘴? It felt so tone-deaf in the context of the world’s challenges right now. I sat with that discomfort for a bit, made a coffee (as one does), and let the caffeine—and my frustration—settle. Then it hit me. It’s not about dismissing or minimizing anyone’s pain or the structural inequities perpetuating it. It’s about recognizing that for those of us who have the privilege to reflect, learn, and grow from our challenges, there’s an opportunity—and perhaps even a responsibility—to harness those lessons for something greater. This is why I love #coaching so much - it helps us to channel those struggles into meaningful action. Maybe your struggle is navigating #burnout in your work. Maybe it’s recovering from #failure or finding #purpose amidst uncertainty. Those aren’t easy things to face, but they launch the seriously hard work for growth and clarity—if we’re willing to look for them. For me, the takeaway wasn’t to diminish struggles but to acknowledge the potential within them for personal and #collectivechange. Thanks, Mark. I really do enjoy your newsletter, even when it’s upsetting me. 😊 #SocialImpact #GrowthMindset #ProfessionalDevelopment #Leadership
Be grateful for your struggles, because within them is the opportunity for growth and meaning.

Today on Labor Day, let’s celebrate more than just hard work — let’s take a moment to honor the deeper meaning behind it. The truth is — labor is service, and service is life. When we give our labor, we’re offering a piece of ourselves, an expression of love in action. Whether you’re guiding others, solving problems, creating something new, caring for others, or building a better future, know that your work is a powerful force that shapes the world around you. True fulfillment comes not just from the tasks we complete, but from the impact we create through our dedication to others. The most alive, driven, and fulfilled people are those who lead lives of contribution and service to something greater than themselves. Your labor isn’t just a job; it’s a gift, a legacy that leaves a lasting ripple of positive change. Let’s take a moment to reflect: How can you bring more purpose and joy into your work? How does your labor positively impact others, your community, your family, and the world around you? Enjoy the holiday weekend, and thank you for your countless wonderful contributions to making our world a brighter place! 🙏🏼❤️

May you remember your time is precious, it is a gift, and how you spend it matters. Most people live their lives unfulfilled because of their jobs. We are all given the gift of life to live out your soul's purpose, to impact others and be a part of something bigger. It is your obligation to align with what that is. If this is an area of your life where you feel stuck, I encourage you to read these wise words from one of the greatest leaders of our time, Tony Robbins. ~~~ "Your labor isn’t just a job; it’s a gift, a legacy that leaves a lasting ripple of positive change. Let’s take a moment to reflect: How can you bring more purpose and joy into your work? How does your labor positively impact others, your community, your family, and the world around you?"
